I'm going by the "links only, please, unless it's very brief" thing, and posting this plotbunny in its entirety for anybody who wants it. I would flesh it out, but I am on deadline for a bunch of accounting paperwork, and dare not take the time to mess with this.

That said, if lightning strikes me, I won't have to finish the accounting paperwork....

Oh, what the heck, here, have a plotbunny:

If Reyes had a time machine, there's a case I'd put him on....

UNSUB SR. impregnated target.  Target's memories of process are blurred.  White light and angelic figure mentioned, also fear, which vanished when UNSUB SR.  spoke to her.  (Note: her cousin Elizabeth had what may be possibly related experience, though details differ. Followup interviews needed.)

UNSUB SR. had interaction with fiance. Told fiance not to be afraid to marry target.  Said target's child was "of the Holy Ghost." Instructed fiance as to naming of child.

UNSUB SR. told fiance that name (or nickname? Manny, Emanuel) child would mean "God is with you."  Speculation that UNSUB SR. can see through eyes of child, hear through ears of child, and basically know what child knows, because "they are one."

Fiance refrained from sexual relations with target until after birth of child (UNSUB JR.). (Does this lessen fiance's chance of contagion?)

UNSUB JR. manifestations include ability to multiply foodstuffs (strongly beneficial adaptation for gamma -- or beta -- in that time and place?), transmute foodstuffs (water into wine is reported)  and healing.

UNSUB JR. may be late-stage beta trying to do the right thing. He does seem to have submitted to -- even courted! -- death sentence from civil and religious authorities. (Suicide by Sanhedrin?)

Conclusions?

There. It's pretty pathetically tiny, and altogether cliche, but I think written up as a proper report it might actually be amusing in a creepy way.

Thank you!

I kept trying to work in how "The only way to the Father is through me" might be simultaneously a warning and an instruction for the take-down team.

"I wanted to tell you both. I've met someone."

"Danny, that's good," his mother said, sounding strange and strained and cautious. "What's--"

"His name's Grayson. He works for the State Department."

And now you have, nearly making me strangle in the process. Go you!

Daphne: You can do this. You just have to stand up on it.

Chaz: Can't.

Daphne: Stand up on it, damn you.

Chaz: On belay?
