noticed this in Salon today, end quote is ... really good.

Quote
I can never get rid of the experience or the memory of it, but I can make room for it in my head so it doesn't crowd out all the other stuff. I can give it its place. I understood that when I walked out of my shrink's office for my final EMDR session. Maybe I always knew that in my mind. But now, I feel it in my body.

Ain't that the truth.

Or, as Tom Waits put it,

Drag your wagon and your plow
Over the bones of the dead
Out among the roses and the weeds
You can never go back
And the answer is no
And wishing for it only makes it bleed.

For some reason, the linky doesn't, at least for me.

Grazie.

And thank you for the original link, too.  I may go check that out.

De nada. HTML in BBCode is just a real pain. I have never once managed to get it right the first time, despite previewing. I always end up posting, then editing to correct it. Sometimes that works, the first time I try it. Sometimes.

Meep. I didn't even say "thank you" for that, and I should've. Fascinating stuff - some of the previous things I'd read about it made it sound too woo-woo NewAge (pronounced as "sewage") to be worthwhile, but now...

Hm. I need to play therapist roulette, since my last one a) is no longer affiliated with the clinic I go to and b) isn't sufficiently covered under my Medicare Extra plan. (Medicare only covers $65.something for a therapist visit, which is about half of what's the lower range of charges around here.)

Also - *love* the phrase "tangly morningness" - especially when "morning" can be defined as "when a person first stumbles out of bed". Smiley

Also, LOVE this quote with a fierce and many-clawed love.
