I was taught that once you start CPR you keep going until the EMS arrive, someone takes over for you, or you physically cannot do it anymore.

This is absolutely the case--as my sister the paramedic growls at the TV screen on a regular basis.

CPR can help to re-establish a very weak heartbeat, or very occasionally re-start a stopped heart, as Bear says--when it's being done by people who know what they're doing and are doing it properly.

Another thing that television always gets wrong, although I can understand that no actor wants his or her sternum broken/popped loose by proper chest compressions.

I'm coming totally late to the party, having just read episode one.  I've got to say, if it had been on my TV, I definitely would have been tuning in next week.  The characters are interesting, the anomalies intriguing, and the mystery was developed so that I didn't figure it out right away, but once the pieces were in place, it made sense.

In particular, I liked how Worth was able to piece things together.  She has an interesting mind; there's the uncertainty of being the new kid on the block, but underneath that is a mixture of logic and (I think, having only read the first episode) an intuitive grasp of how people work.

The rest of the team is intriguing as well.  I'm looking forward to learning more about them.
