MG, thanks - I've been seriously no-brainy, between the fibrofogginess and the migraine spikes - to the point of not even thinking to check a dictionary or Google. Usually I actually know these things. *wry* (Hate this. Hatehatehatestabbityhate.)

Fortunately you can eat your mistakes.  This doesn't work with neuroscience.

I think octopuses is also acceptable.

I did say, "if you must make a non-standard-English plural," didn't I? Octopuses is most correct.

And I know there's a dictionary out there that agrees with me, I just don't have the energy or attention span to remember or re-find which one it is. Tongue

You did indeed. I think the OED says "octopuses" or "octopodes" are preferable to "octopi", but most preferable of all is OctoPIE. Hmm, a pie with 8 sections maybe, a sort of very complicated Cornish pasty?

A Korean friend of mine posted this video of an octopus dish in a restaurant. Think about why it might need to be a video before you decide to go look. Definitely not for the squirmish squeamish. I don't think there's enough alcohol in the world to make me want to eat that. Even if it was served in a delicious flaky crust.

I might try it if it were squid.

That dish looks interesting! Not in an I-would-eat-that sort of way, but in a food-as-art sort of way. I think it's neat. But I would never eat it. I don't really enjoy food that wriggles.

What "food that wriggles" have you not really enjoyed previously?
