The trick is to keep asking until you find a creative artist who is either related to you by blood, or susceptible to flattery.
Hmm.
You know, my dad is a pretty damned fine banjo player.... and I seem to recall Em knows a couple of musicians. ;-)

My friend Liz enjoys the ferry trip over to visit me even more when the weather's rough. Especially if there are youngsters to amuse by starting them singing that... (I don't think I ever saw the show, but I still know the theme. Some things are... inescapable.) |

It's true that comedies hold up better under themesongs with words. But I love the themesongs for The O.C. and Veronica Mars--the latter, especially, where I think the lyrics are a great connection to the first-season story themes.
Also, since we're doing television without so much of the, you know, pictures, we need a few thousand extra words. *g*
