I feel that the Season 3 promo should have a big disclaimer at the top: "Please Keep Your Hands and Feet Inside the Car While the Ride Is in Motion." It's very roller coaster-esque.

By the way, what do you all think of the way the snippets of Season 3 appear to be in order...?
I strongly suspect they're not in order. Especially since I expect "The Unicorn Evils" to focus on the Return of Hafidha, and Why Chaz Hasn't Posted. Our PTB are tricksy and love their misdirection, they do.

Ah, just found the promo. I love the line: "You fall until it's time to fly." Reminds me of the line from the song by the Killers: "When you can't hold on, hold on." Story of my life.

A season of questing without Hafs, questing for Hafs, and not until the end finding her in peril...

"tricksy" indeed (in the very way the phouka meant it)!* By the way, wonderful, wonderful PTB-- Thank you (I guess!) for the Christmas gift: at least she does not appear to be the gamma. Yes, exactly the kind of gift I remember being predicted... . "Shhh," he said, into Hafidha's ear. He pressed his face into her cheek so that Brady could barely hear his voice. "I'm going to take care of everything."
And then he lifted up the Glock and nosed the barrel through her braids until it pressed against the side of Hafidha's head, right behind the indentation of her temple. * you know you have me in your power

It could be that the speaker is Chaz, and promised her that he'd kill her before letting her live as a gamma.

[fingers-in-ears]LA-LA-LA-I'M-NOT-LISTENING-LA-LA-LA![/fingers-in-ears] Seriously, though, I definitely don't get a Hafs-as-gamma vibe from the quoted passage. I think everyone on the team knows that if you're planning on killing the gamma, you do so from well out of the gamma's reach. Pistol-to-the-skull is more of a control thing. Also, there's a distinctly sexual undertone there that I don't really see Chaz taking with Hafs. I can easily imagine Joe Random UNSUB talking to her like that, shortly before he becomes Joe Random Corpse.

It could either be sexual, or merely intimate, and Chaz and Hafs are intimate (as siblings, not as lovers).

My current brand of wild, baseless speculation about that passage is that it's Brady thinking about what he might have to do or almost did, driven by the memories of the showdown with Chaz in Missouri; we've already seen him vividly imagining what would've happened if Reyes had been a few seconds later.
No backing evidence, of course, but it's marginally less worrisome!

I had the same reaction as Foxipher, that it was Chaz having to make the ultimate sacrifice of killing Hafs, perhaps at her behest because she doesn't appear to be fighting back. Or maybe putting her out of her misery? That's just where my mind went at first read....which, of course, I'm sure the PTBs expected; the better to get our natural "OMGNOOOOOOO!" reaction.

Erm...I don't see how that indicated she's not the gamma. It could be that the speaker is Chaz, and promised her that he'd kill her before letting her live as a gamma.
Except that Chaz didn't promise to kill her, when she asked him to promise way back in season 1. from Knock on Coffins: "If... if anything bad happens?" She held up her pinky, crooked. "Promise me you won't let me do anything like that to anybody, man? You'll do what you have to? Pinky-swear?"
"You won't." He hooked his own pinky around hers, feeling the dry warmth of her skin. He hoped she wouldn't notice that he hadn't promised. "Pinky-swear."

ISTR that Chaz switched to a different make of gun after his Glock exploded in his hand. That, of course, does not prevent him from switching back, or from having picked up someone else's gun, or whatnot. But still.

Wiki says he did, that he now uses a .40 S&W SIG Sauer. It also says that Hafidha's gun is a Glock.
