I think the last one had be gasping the most. That, and Reyes somehow potentially being more susceptible to becoming a gamma (?). My mind immediately went to it being an exposure issue somehow, like low-level radiation. Meep!

For what it's worth, I'm going to assume that Sol's Sweeney Todd quote refers to Hafidha Gates rejoining the team. Pay no attention to any meeping coming from the FRTFO Bench.

Because he's obsessive and has a strong mythology, I suspect, rather than exposure. If it was exposure, we'd see more clusters than we have. |

Well, I dunno about the context in SU, but in Sweeney Todd, Sweeney says that line upon taking up his silver-chased razors again after many years without them.
Oh, thanks for the reminder on that one! So then, perhaps an allusion, but with pen rather than razor? Hrmm.... That's not so bad then. Pardon me, my heebie-jeebies ran away with me for a while, back there. Better now. |

Actually, I hypothesize that a number of those quotes will turn out to be perfectly harmless in context. It's just that everything ELSE in those episodes will be awful.

Reyes' mythology is stronger than anyone else's on the team? I don't see that. But maybe because I haven't been paying enough attention. Hrmm.... actually I think he has less mythology than the rest of the team, or at least fewer specifics in his mythology. the problem is his obsession. his whole life is absorbed by his need to know about the anomaly; it's eaten up his social life, his 3 marriages, everything. I can see that his fascination with it would make him more vulnerable to infection, or whatever we're calling it this week. edited for typos |
