So, um.
Two weeks to "On Faith."
Give or take a day or two.

Because uncertainty only increases refreshing?
Looking forward to it. (Third Christmas in a row in the lab. And then flying to Seattle the next day...)

A-hem.
I shall, with great dignity, abstain from this frivolous and unseemly "squeeing."
At least, anywhere that anyone else can hear me.
Also, where is my Sam the Eagle icon when I most need it?

(One day, I need to get someone to make me an icon of me bouncing. I'm told it can be quite impressive.)

As if I hadn't already made a count-down calendar & stuck it on the fridge!
Now that my squee is out of the way I have remembered I will be in the land of dialup four days of that week I wonder if I can convince Himself to stop and have lunch somewhere with wifi on the way home?

It does work nicely over low bandwidth. I got started reading SU while I was spending a lot of time on the train, reading it on my smartphone. Which is a pretty old smartphone, though a loyal beast. (Just did a little more work on its mainboard, and a little config file hacking, and it's talking to the Lenovo tablet. Now I have to decide if I introduce it to the Touchbook, or possible bollux up everything trying to get Linux running on it.)
It was great. Hit train station, download episode. Read, read, read.

I shall consult with the family geeks about what the options are- the place we're spending the holiday is 45 minutes out of town, up a mountainside, 'turn off the paved road at ___' territory.

Thanks for the reminder! I shall have to construct an acceptible excuse for my family as to why I am ditching them on Christmas to huddle over my laptop and read.

You mean they aren't used to that already? I got LotR for the first time one Christmas and they didn't see me again apart from mealtimes until I'd finished it on Boxing Day
