I’m going to go a different direction with my wish list. This is for season 3, right? Not the end of the series? If what we’re looking at is an overall plot arc from start to finish, then season 3 ought to put us in the midst of a whole lot of conflict. Bad Stuff will continue to escalate. There ought to be some light material to better highlight how dark the Bad Stuff is, but I don’t know that I’ll wish for all of these happy endings. That way lies cancellation.

So:
--a continuation of the “Hafidha’s AWOL” plotline, rather than an end to it. Probably coinciding with a not-good uptick in the overall level of conflict. (When is that assumed Hafidha-focused episode supposed to run, again?)
--conflict involving both Chaz and Daphne in such a way as to heighten the tension between them as (a) friends and (b) coworkers. The ingredients for this one are already in the soup.
--yes, we should probably see more of Gray, probably in some way relating to Danny, but not necessarily. Gray, after all, works somewhere in the Washington governmental machine. If the pressure from Upstairs is coming not just from within the FBI but somewhere else, too, it’s entirely possible that Gray could become involved, however willingly.
(My poor head; I just started trying to make an argument as to why Erin Strauss is coming down so hard on Reyes – and then came smack up against the funhouse-mirrored divide between Criminal Minds and SU. Ouch!)
--an involvement for Nikki that will lead to a season 4, or possibly late season 3, conflict point. She’s been Teflon for the most part thus far, but she’s not invulnerable. It would be good to be reminded of that.
--proof that Idlewood is not as secure as we and the team would like to believe.
--and, last but certainly not least, the loss of one of the agents in some fashion or other. The team dynamics are shaken right now. I don’t think it benefits the overall story to let them settle again.
