Oh, hah! Thank you. I'd forgotten that Touching Evil should be on the list of my influences for this show.

Equus scarred me, too. And I'm not particularly fond of horses. But damn!
The reason I need to reread before commenting (or substantial commenting) is that the first pass winds up with me just being able to squee and babble incoherently. Gratifying to the authors, I expect, but not particularly edifying. And y'all sure seem to want to hear what we think along side how much we liked it. So the quick "that was amazing" comment on the first pass, and when I get more time to reread it and think about it, a longer and more substantial comment.
But this episode did not do that which I've been dreading. Which means it will happen in the finale. Or, perhaps, next season. Eeek!

Dare I ask what you're dreading?

Dunno about what CJ's worried about, but y'all aren't shy about inflicting GBH on your characters, yanno? And I don't have a least favorite. I'm going to be sad no matter who gets smushed.

What I'm really dreading is the episode that hits too close to home. It's pretty much inevitable in a series like this that something's going to get really hard. I'm sure other people have had that episode already. I think I saw a comment to that effect on "Ballistic". I haven't, yet, but I know it's going to happen sometime.
The torture and death of characters? Knowing these writers, definitely. And that's going to be hard, too. But not in the same way. And I don't expect the worst to happen in the first season finale. It's possible, but given that they're talking a five-season arc, I think they're going to take more time, get these characters even deeper under our skin, before killing or maiming them in utterly horrific ways.
And we, sickos that we are, will love them for it, of course.

If it's Baal from SG1, oooh, yummy! The bread, too. And yet another thread turns to food!

Gross Bodily Harm was all I came up with. Emma's the creative one.

CJ, what I do is I read it once, then I reread it, while having a comment window open. Generally I have a couple of scenes that I specifically want to review in greater detail, but I do do a gloss reread of the whole episode.
(Of course, I have a ridiculous reading speed, which makes this easier -- I should probably put that in the Superpowers thread, shouldn't I?)

On a side note, I was surprised to find that so many of the team liked Guinness. I would have figured someone would drink a Strongbow or a Smithwick's. It would be wrong not to drink Guinness at The Field, if at all possible. They pour it exactly right. Nom nom nom. Oh geez, I missed the name of the pub! My friends had a guest from San Diego staying in town for the big Irish music competition over the weekend -- I spent about eight hours in the last week playing tunes with him -- and I think he plays sessions weekly at the Field. Small world and all that. This was my favorite episode yet, firing on all cylinders. I'm so excited for the finale....

That's about all I can manage. It seems like it would get really boring to keep reading "Thank You X" after every episode, so here's a kiss. And a SCOWL for making me hang a shirt over my door jam so I could keep an eye on it and scream like hell for my hubby to get the gun if it moved a hair's breadth.

I just finished reading it, (what, you expect me to actually work while I'm here?) and was all "Aww, Chaz!" all ep.
I'm not sure why, but this episode is really stuck in my head for some reason. LOVE IT.

Can I just say that I am so not going to re-read that episode.
I like to sleep sometimes.
