I suppose you could always write fanfic.

*sporfle* (y'know, if I had the ability, I'd have done it already. I have, um, other projects in mind, however...)

I would have to find the time, the motivation, and research bits of the US (I'm currently thinking North Carolina, Tennesee and possibly Arkansas).  I have the teaser, the Gamma and the ending worked out, it's just that pesky, pesky middle section.  And, of course, the actual work.

Then there's the other one which feels like it would work as an early SU story, where it's just Reyes and Todd.  Again, I've got the beginning, the Gamma, surrounding cast and a vague idea of the ending.

Maybe I need a writer's room to help me break these stories Smiley

And if I'm going to do them at all, this hiatus would be the time, before they get thoroughly Jossed...

I lived in Tennesee for over 10 years, if you needed somone to cast an eye over those bits.

Snacking, folks, snacking. I don't know where you got any other ideas, and frankly I'm not sure I want to know =)

I'm actually surprised at how little SU fan fic I've seen so far. What I have seen has been very good and leaves me wanting more, and I'm not someone who generally reads fanfic.

Irritatingly, with the new job, and especially the new commute, together with trying to be sociable occasionally, I'm not getting the spare time (or cycles) to write these days... Even the teaser to this thing I'm probably not going to write.  I'm going to endeavour to have a go tomorrow, one of my two free weekday evenings.

The PTB are so damn good that it's intimidating. I wrote one bit so far, and I couldn't pull it off in the style I was trying for. I have another piece outlined, but course work takes priority at the moment.

Okay, so to toss another pondering into the mill, what do we make of this exchange?

Quote
Brady wonders what a desk-jockey in the State Department does to earn rough hands like that. It bothers him a little that he doesn't know.

Maybe he sandpapers them because he knows how fucking sexy it is.

(From the extra dated November 2008 where Danny and Gray first meet at Danny's house)

Did we ever find out what the calluses are from?  Anyone want to take a stab at working Gray into the budding conspiracy?   Wink

Clearly he's an enforcer for the Secret Masters. The calluses are from the hemp rope that he uses for his signature garrotes.

Or maybe he just plays golf or something similar in his spare time. You know, if you want to be boring and realistic.

Sailing? Dude, if you're going to date a Yank, date a Yankee sailor...

Clearly he's an enforcer for the Secret Masters.

I want this thought to occur to Brady.

It makes sense, but it's possibly too straightforward and logical for the PTB...
