To find the 'hover tag' info, I had to right click on the photo, and look at 'properties'.

It would seem that if you have SnapShots enabled (which shows where a link goes), it neglects to show the alt text.   On LJ, the Snapshots appear to be enabled by default.

Well...it's the title attribute (which isn't (yet) there in this case) that does the hover.  I think some browsers will treat the alt attribute like the title if the title isn't there, but Firefox (what I'm using) in particular won't by default (I think there's an extension that changes that).  Looks like Safari doesn't either...I'm late, so I'm not going to fire up Windows to test IE, but I might later, since y'all have got me curious now.  :-)

How problematic. :-P

I had a hover tag on it two damned ways, too--as a SPAN tag, and as alt text. I have added the title attribute. If it doesn't work now, I give up.

Thanks, lj. (I tested it in IE and firefox before I posted, and it worked for me. Le sigh. Way to ruin an attempt at something cool, Bear. I completely suck.)

In response: Of course it dates, you Todd. Sadly. But the fact that you -knew- the time before sleeping in an RV was considered "camping,"...trust me, it just makes you more awesome.
In my world, sleeping in an RV is still not considered "camping".

The hovertext works now!

Bear, I'm sorry I hurt your feelings. I'll be more careful in the future.

Bear, you do not suck.  Full stop.

Your first attempt at this on LJ may have been a little short of "full of win" but you've learned something.  I've been entertained.  And...  *drumroll*  The hover text is now working.

Seconded. Wasn't looking for or caring about alt text - too full of squee at "ooooh, Duke posted a *picture*!" So, thank you for giving us that...

I figured there was something wrong with my browser settings, and pulled up a properties panel.

I used to do real camping. I miss it.

I had to give it up when even if I could do the hike to the campsite sleeping on the ground would leave me too stove up to hike out again. "Thou shalt not deliberately go so far into the brush thou needst the nice mountain rescue team to fetch thee out again" was drummed into me early on.

*flails madly*

You know, when all the places the gang mention going to are either very well known or places I've never heard of, it's not so hard to remember that they are imaginary internet friends.  But, dear PTB, when Sol waves on his lj from Victorville I start wondering if I could bribe him to he might stop in Redlands for lunch at Cuca's and to pick up presents for Daphne and Chaz at FiveTen (although...wrong day for the latter).

I'm fairly certain this is not healthy.   Cheesy
