This would be a forum for posting links to fan art, if it amuses you.

We do ask that you respect the copyright of others while doing so.

I've been having a play with using DAZ|Studio to do a portrait of Chaz (with a theoretical eye to doing everyone).  The biggest roadblock is hair - unless you spend gajillions, it's a matter of luck whether you can find something that vaguely fits.

Curses, I thought I'd done a render of Chaz I could post.  Unfortunately it's taking ages (there appears to be something about the latest version of DAZ|Studio that's very slow); I shall update once I have a render done.

Update!  A render:

Hm.  Well, it's a first effort...

Korvar, the cool! If you're up for suggestions and these are easy to do: slightly browner skin, slightly wilder hair, and a bit more of a grin. But if that's a nuisance, still, the cool!

How cool is that? (Answer: intensely!)

What an awesome thing to do!

*so* cool.

It's Chaz in midwinter, Will. *g* Remember, the fans have only seen him in Cathode-Ray Tan mode so far....

Yeah, his hair is totally a mess, however.

That's actually handy, as I had to spend a fair amount of time taming the hair model in question...

Chaz has multiracial hair with a curl. And he forgets to get it cut.

It is not amenable.

Updated: New shaders, new texture map, new skin tone.  Same hair, same vacant expression Smiley  I'd quite like to get at least the Chaz/Daphne/Hafidha trifecta done, so I can do a group shot, but I'm not confident I can get something that vaguely resembles Hafidha's hair...

Cool. So what kind of program is DAZ|Studio exactly? Like, are you playing with pre-built models or what? I'm familiar with 3d Studio Max, but it doesn't sound like this is the same sort of program, at least I don't think it has options for hair and stuff, unless you want to build it from scratch.

I've heard of Poser, is this something similar?

Doesn't she change her hairstyle along with her eye color?

Ah, yes, here it is from her profile:

...and changes her hairstyle twice a month, if not more.

Korvar, nice! I just realized it's not the mouth that bothers me. It's the wide-open, rather dazed eyes. I suspect you're stuck with that. Still, it'll be fun to see what you come up with next!

Very nice work, Korvar.  I've played a little bit with Dazi and I've found it somewhat hard to do things that look good, especially that good.

Mocknot, DAZIStudio is a kind of accessorizer for Poser.  It lets you put facial features, hair, clothes, and props on a Poser figure, then arrange the body and render a view of it.  It's free, because you have to pay for the figures and props and things, so they figure to get you hooked with the software, then squeeze you for the figures.
