Oh Daphs.

Oh Chaz.

~snuggles them both, rather carefully~

"dead brother Kenny"Huh Oh, those sneaksy PTB, they answer one question and raise a million more!

Mentioned in Daphne's bio, way-back-when: her older brother 'did everything right--and died in a drunk driving accident when she was sixteen'.  He sounds like a right prat, from this glimpse, but I'm sure there was more to him than that.

(Slightly) more can be found here.  (Thank you, wiki!)

Also, yay for Tricia! Taking good care of her missus. Or at least as much care as Daphs will let her take.

Strictly speaking, things you say to your younger sister while in your teens probably shouldn't count toward your prat merit badge. (But he probably was a bit of a prat, anyway. *g*)

And I'm sure he was sainted after he died--at least, the four drunken idiots from my high school were. That would intensify the prattiness because he was perfect! so how can you say such things about him!

Waits for someone who has actually watched South Park to make the obvious allusion (white knowledge is a strange and wonderous phenomenon).

~is confused~  I have never watched South Park.

I've always counted them towards my older sister's.  ~g~ Being the younger sister in question tends to give one a different perspective on these things.

That was lovely. Thank you for this glimpse into more of the story. Seriously, this is better than any TV on any other network.

Daphne: You can do this. You just have to stand up on it.

Chaz: Can't.

Daphne: Stand up on it, damn you.

Chaz: On belay?

 Daphne: Belay on.

Teenage boys are prats by definition.  So are teenage girls, really.  Goes with the territory.  I wonder what dire things young Daphne did to her brother in revenge?  That also goes with the territory.

That extra was sweet and awkward and lovely and difficult.  Makes me want to hug them all, though I know Chaz would hate it.

One of the kids is Kenny, who dies in a differently gruesome fashion every week. And every time it happens, somebody says, "They killed Kenny! Those bastards!"

...in other words, they nicked a gag from The Goon Show and dressed it up in new clothes?

This bit was just.... it hit all my emotional buttons in much the same way the episode itself did.  Delightful and touching and heart... not wrenching, as it was definitely more positive than negative, but heart-something.  The heart got involved.

Well, that left me with an ECR.

Not sure if I should be cheering or crying, or both at the same time.

But I'm really really glad he stopped by Daphs place first.

I'm a Delta- any sense of security I might manifest is necessarily false.

False sense of security seems more like a TPTB manifestation.

Weepy now. *sniff* I was doing okay until I realized that Daphne thought he'd just come back to say goodbye, and then....

I want a tattoo like that. That is, if I was ever going to get a tattoo, that's a good one.

My sense is not one of security, but of vulnerability, attempts at honesty, and cautious hope.

Also, yay for Tricia! Taking good care of her missus. Or at least as much care as Daphs will let her take.

I like the glimpse of Tricia we got, and of Tricia and Daphs' relationship, which seems solid and healthy. Yay!
