Aesthetically speaking, too, Sol's final words in the last part "And there I was" echo his first words in Part 1, "So no shit, there I was," when he witnesses Joshua Shore's collapse (and he performs CPR on both Shore and Daphne), and I'm inclined to think that kind of resonance is intentional.

Right. *We* know. But we can't talk to Chaz about it, because *he* doesn't know. Right now, she's not dead yet. She will be, in another six days. Chaz has just had that conversation with T. He knows she isn't there. But the very end of the ep? hasn't happened yet. It's unlikely to not happen in just that way, unless the PTB are secretly conducting experiments in how much emotional whiplash we can take, but. AUGH. Cannot go offer chaz sympathy for this thing. Hopes that Daphne will still wake up are still appropriate over on LJ. sort of.
Yeah. It reminds me of the end of S1, and not in a happy way. ....well, at least I left my hopeful message before reading the conclusion. Ack.

That's actually one of the best explanations of Shadow Unit I've ever seen.

Well now...reading that at work was not a good idea.
I'm really glad I checked LJ this morning, well before I read that. It made expressing hope and sympathy easier.
Shit.

Daphne: You can do this. You just have to stand up on it.
Chaz: Can't.
Daphne: Stand up on it, damn you.
Chaz: On belay?
Daphne: Belay on.

Also, I want to note that I am deliberately not making snarky comments about how one of the lesbian lovers always dies because Daphne is a real person and y'all are therefore exempt. I think.
Well, we can kill a black guy, a latino, a jewish woman, a black woman, an asian woman, a bisexual woman, or a gay guy. Or Solomon Todd. Pick two?

Gold star for good catches. Me, I'm just hoping that "So no shit, there I was" line means this whole thing is a sea story. That being the canonical opening for such tales, although sometimes it's condensed to "This is a real no-shitter." (Whee! So nice and comfy here in the Nile!)

You know the difference between a fairy tale and a war story? A war story starts, "No shit, there I was." A fairy tale starts "Once upon a time." BTW, gold stars for Pling and Tegyrius, too. They're on the secret wall in the basement.

Understand that this is in fact praise, and I mean it with a great deal of respect. But.
Damn you all.
Oh, fucking god.
Yes. Yes, this. I'm glad I sent my son up for his nap before reading this. He'd be very upset at the way Mommy burst into tears...

Oh hey, EXTRA. Fuck.
For some reason, possibly ECR overload, this comment actually made me burst into laughter, because it just expressed it all so perfectly. Thank you, theredshoes. I needed that. To the PTB: You guys are good at what you do. Helluvan episode there. I haven't the words to say everything I'd like to say about it, so just imagine a Scandosotan voice saying, "Yep. THAT works."
