No way Daphs could be fit for duty in 2 months, things do not look good for our heroine.

Well, but they might not be doing it in real-time....?

WIBBLE!  *flailing* as I figure out what, if anything I want to say.
(Because I want to comfort the Chaz, but I think he'd take that badly.)

I KNOW. I spent like five minutes drafting my comment and it still sucks. It doesn't help that Daphne's friends page is filled with posts about dying rabbits from the bunny community.

Not forgetting Erik the Notaboy. Hmm, car accident again, there's that thing we don't believe in.

Oh right, poor Erik. Jesus, that's just fucking dandy.

I am sort of terrifiedly guessing that Moriarity Sylar Master maybe wants to make Chaz, or even Reyes, pop and get dragged over to his side - wasn't that how Hafs got bug-bitten, trying to find out what had happened to Erik? So imagine if Chaz goes after whoever obviously did this to Daphne....

I also got a weird vibe off Sol's different encounters with the homeless guy in part 1 and the gamma in part 2:

a heap of sweaters and peeling shoes with a beard and sunburn and voice....The hand holding out the battered coffee cup was bony.....He was younger than he sounded: thirty, thirty-three.

A too-young man, scruffily bearded, with a voice older and scratchier than it should have been. A hand thin, and not just from hard living.

That sounds to me anyway awfully like the same person. But if it is....

With the team down Hafs, Sol (at least officially), and now Daphs, I kinda suspect this is where SA Tan will come in.

I was kind of thinking. And he seems to have a flexible mind, which will be useful.

Though I bet his wife will hate it.

Moriarty couldn't have directly caused the car crash, because didn't Chaz see it coming from Singh's mind?  Although affecting the voices in one's head, that's a scary power.

I did like the medical imagery of the car crash:  the engine quiet as labored breathing/and the horns beeping like heart monitors
The report definitely written after a watch in the hospital.

I was thinking Moriarty might have been controlling Singh (of course, "Puppetmaster" was in fact Hafs terminilogy, which I'd forgotten - and which is creepier with Hafs having seen herself as a puppet...) We don't know what Chaz reacted to. And while I like the comment about mirrors to be at least also about Chaz's mirror, it certainly could be just about the truck mirrors.

Such a perfectly textbook case for anomaly replication, as noted elsewhere.

Well, the driver had 'cardiac arrest and/or cerebral aneurysm' and was fifty-four, didn't fit the profile - he could have gotten some kind of signal? preprogrammed message? (Living Water?) Because it's not til _after_ Daphne sedates him and everyone relaxes that he is resigned, and the truck crashes. So I read the sequence as -

Daphne injects him
He sags in relief/resignation
They go three or four steps
Chaz warns her
_Then_ Duke hears the honking.  It's like there's a missing step there.

Something about that whole arrest/pickup felt off....not Daphne's skills per se, but Singh's reactions. (And if it is Singh Duke sees in Part 1, that's even creepier....it's a total setup.) I forgot Hafs came up with Puppetmaster. D:

I was guessing Chaz reacted to Singh killing the driver, but if Singh had been a puppet all along wouldn't Chaz have felt that with the mirroring? ....I don't think these questions are all going to be resolved in Part 3 either. AUGH.

Except - doesn't the incident fit the profile?

Here's what Singh says to Daphne when he's asking her to listen:

Quote
"You gotta be careful," he said. "You think you know what's what. You think you have it all under control? Well, let me tell you, you don't."

And there they were, made the arrest, got him injected with a sedative, all good, all under control ... except it wasn't.  And they didn't know that till it was all too late.

I don't think so, because Daphne would have been the one to suffer the aneurysm, but she got hit by the truck, because the truck driver, who was fifty-four and apparently didn't have his whole future ahead of him, was the one who had the aneurysm. That reads to me more like a setup. And since we know Reyes was set up, and Hafs was set up, and how did Chaz's Relative know he was going to be there anyway....?

Well... What if this is where Moriarty started whispering a modified plan in Singh's ear? If there is a connection between Moriarty and the gammas, one would assume it's two-way because how else would he know what's going on. Or just Singh's evolving anomaly? So, perhaps it wasn't Daphne that set off the FUBAR resolution to the situation, but the rest of the team thinking it was in the bag, and the anomaly deciding to show them just how badly shit can go wrong when you think you're home free.

Well, no, because Daphne listened.

Remember the last words of the people who did suffer the aneurysms.
