Excellently done. And the DVD extra... thought-inducing. (Oh, and that last quote, which tells us, probably, Sol's first encounter with the Anomaly...meep.)

(For some reason, I pegged the right person for UNSUB early on. Which doesn't happen, usually.)

I have two textual quibbles (aside from the typo I reported), because this is set in my stomping grounds...

But awesome story - loved seeing the gang as viewed from all sorts of different eyes. (And nothing stepped on my plotted but unwritten Nikki Lau fanficlets...)

And I had to look this up: http://thesocietypages.org/socimages/2010/11/09/is-your-washroom-breeding-bolsheviks/

About half-way through, but have decided that "Today was a blue sparkly triceratops day, apparently." is my favourite SU line ever.

Wow. That's a lot of POV characters.

And I do believe this is the first episode in which none of the WTF gang have had POV.

That one hit me like a fist to the gut for some reason.  "One of the building's residents, a former Army Ranger named Solomon Todd,"  -- wait, what?

Mine too. Plus now I'm wondering if maybe his hand has burn scars on it.

I urge all y'all to reread the end of "Smoke & Mirrors."

What Bear Said.

The thing that surprised me about that line was Beale claiming that Sol was an ex-Army Ranger. I can certainly see it - but I can also see Sol having pulled the wool over Beale's eyes.

Maybe, one of these episodes, we'll actually get a straightforward, conclusive, canonical statement about Sol's early life. I am not, however, holding my breath.

And this was the reason for my "Oh, ho" - another tiny thing that might or might not be true about Sol.  Maybe it should have been an  "Oh, come on ..."   Cheesy

It sounds way too much like the sort of thing that would be surprisingly easy to piece together (especially if Hafs is out, even if she's not on field duty)... after Sol's death.

So actually? I can live without it.

Or it could just be that he feels the need to be manipulative. And from his point of view he absolutely does need to be manipulative, because his soul-sister is refusing to contemplate a potential cure. He needs to either directly manipulate (i.e. browbeat) Hafs into taking it, or manipulate the situation so that she agrees to take it of what she believes is her own free will. Setting the scene with the medical oversight team is just one of the steps to doing precisely that, and if getting the reaction you want from the audience means actively manipulating them, then that's simply what the role calls for.

Jumping on this late and out of sequence*, but does it just about break anyone else's heart that the people who are on board for the proposed treatment are Eddie and Dyson? Yeah, Susannah and Hafs have loving family who want to protect them. And our none-to-pretty, none to well spoken boys from downtown are going to be the front line shock troops. Guys, you are my heroes.

* Though it's not necessarily off track for Chaz's motivations, as these are not issues he is likely to be oblivious to. Still, I should have posted this right after Standard of Care...

Ha! I pegged profession early, and specific ID on the UNSUB later, but still before the team. Mwahahaha!

I LOVE Marisol. I hope we'll be seeing more of her. Kris was also awesome; I particularly liked that oh-so-familiar exchange with Daphs.

Also with the love for the outsider-perspective on the team. Very cool.

Oh, and I was surprised at myself that I didn't pick up on the hints about Marisol's past. Sneaky!

Finally, I loved all the layered meanings and instances of "uniform."
