Sugar is AWESOME. Thank you.
It IS sweet, and bittersweet, and sour all at once, but the teen years, and teenagers are like that, too. Now let me go digest and think some more. And sniffle and wipe my eyes and blow my nose.
I'll be back later with more to say.

For reals. That was brutally painful. And it was such a sweet title...

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you thank you thank you for reminding me how much I am in love with Faulkner!
Thank you thank you for giving me more Hafidha POV.
Aaand thank you, randomly, for helping me see certain things from a mommy point of view when it comes to teenagers. Huuge bit of self-searching there, since I'm still 18 and only just starting to become independent. And a godmother.

That makes me go half eek! responsibility! and half "ooh, who gets to be the fun godmother?"

Hee, at least I don't feel like I'm being thrust into the big bad world too soon, so I can handle some of the responsibilities--I think.
Sooo ridiculously excited about the godmother part of this equation. She's gonna be born in October, and I am spoiling that child rotton, no questions.

Fairy godmother or regular?
I'm godmother to my nephew in the church *and* I'm his fairy godmother, magical christening gift and all. ^^

Which is to say, make sure you don't forget the fairy gifts. It is an important part of godmothering.
(I hit "post" before I was done with the first one, but am to lazy to edit.)

Both, indeed. In the eyes of the church and in the eyes of the Mebd.

Godmothering is the Best Gig Evar. Just bear in mind that babies who don't make noise when the water hits them are changelings. (Me, f'rinstance, not that I have any cool powers, dammit.)
