Edited to add:  I still think that Lau herself may be a survivor.

"You okay?" Brady asked.

"Yeah." With enough practice, you got the "Of course, why shouldn't I be?" voice almost every time.

Point to you. I hadn't quite taken that little exchange on board.  Wink

Snacking, folks, snacking. I don't know where you got any other ideas, and frankly I'm not sure I want to know =)

Brady is usually pretty adamant about killing gammas whenever possible; but I wonder with this gamma being a child, could he have been a bit reluctant or at least conflicted?  Maybe Frost didn't have that problem and bowed to "social norms" by making it look like an accident?

Was that what you were referring to, Cal, in your comment here?

training and experience

Oh.  I missed a possibility there, didn't I?  Well, nobody ever accused me of being quick on the uptake.

It would fit with her need to present a perfect surface.

Yup.  Not only am I slow on the uptake, I seem to have got bad at saying things plainly, too.  Sorry.  ~wry grimace~

Well, this is a fandom which is characteristically oblique!

(The implication was there.  I just didn't want to assume, because when I do, I usually get it wrong.)

Hee!  'My fandom is characteristically oblique...'

Somebody needs to make an LJ icon of that.

Okay, there are bad puns, and then there are dire puns, and I think we know what category that one falls into...

But if I knew how to make LJ icons, I would so make that.

In italic type.
