I know, it seems wrong, but it works (in hot chocolate, at least--I haven't tried the just-eat-it approach). I get the Ibarra brand, though, rather than the Abuelita. A little different balance of flavors, depends on what you're after.

Sigh. It's too warm here for hot chocolate.

Heh. And have you stopped drinking coffee as well?

Don't be silly. It's never too warm for coffee.  Cool

Headgear and handguns are at your discretion, but you have to speak Cowboy when acting as Sherrif.

A hat is probably of more practical importance, as tipping one's hat serves important social function.

Also pushing the brim up with one finger and studying the sky while making small talk that includes friendly non-specific warnings about matters the sherriff would really prefer not to have to address more formally.

And taking it off, wiping one's face or neck (dealer's choice) with a white handkerchief, then settling it back on one's head as a signal that we are done messin' about now and are going to have to get serious.

Mustn't forget the multiple varieties of iced coffees, café helados usw.

Then you get to wonder if it is to COLD for coffee.  *runs, snickering as she goes*

Speaking as a committed hat-wearer, the language of hats is sadly neglected and ignored in these uncivilised days.

Not to mention the common courtesy of not touching a person's hat without asking them permission first. *exasperated sigh*

Oh, this is useful. I've liked hats for a while (however, women's hats rarely fit, and until recently only a few varieties of men's hat would accommodate my hair in useful ways) but now that I mostly don't have hair my interest in hats is increasing. (I don't burn easily, but I'm thinking a burnt scalp would be no fun at all. And then there's winter.)

Though when my sister had hair the length mine is now, frequently people would come up and rub her head for luck without asking her permission first.

Somehow I don't have this problem.

Coffee contains and propogates its own environment.

I am transported back to a post-bacchanalian morning, with a weary bunch of revelers drifting into Eva's kitchen, chanting

We all worship the great bean,
Avatar of god caffeine.
Where there is coffee, there is life,
Where there is java so am I.

(Though in fact the only time I've been much of a consumer of coffee was back when I worked for the Neurosurgery department in my undergrad days. I sometimes wondered if I'd be thrown out of Seattle for this lack... but I'm a chronic insomniac with a crazy schedule, so caffeine is something to be handled very carefully. Right now my only regular source is matcha. It's really excellent matcha, though.)

A good hat is for all the year 'round. Keeps the sun off the scalp and out of the eyes in Summer, keeps your head warm in Winter, keeps the rain off whenever it may be, and is good for telegraphing moods/intentions at a distance for those with a modicum of observation at all times.  Cheesy *loves his fedora*

Nice, although I've always been partial to the modified Mentat's Litany:

It is by will alone I set my mind in motion
It is by the juice of Java that the thoughts acquire speed.
The hand acquire shakes.
The shakes become a warning.
It is by will alone I set my mind in motion

<is totally in love with all the western talk round here>

I also vote for Ibarra over Abuelita...seeing the "Nestle" label on anything other than a few specific candy bars generally gives me a feeling of "meh".

I don't buy Nestle full stop. The children made a choice not to buy it after finding out about their activities in the developing world, particularly with regard to the sale of baby milk. (my son did have a moment of confusion when he wanted me to buy him some Smarties and I reminded him that they were Nestle. He told me that the babies wouldn't be harmed by the purchase, as he wasn't going to give the Smarties to the babies - he was going to eat them.)

Back on topic, I've never heard of either of those, so I guess we don't get them over here. I do agree with Emma though - it is never too hot for coffee.

I abhor having people touch my head or headwear without my permission or at least a warning.  I used to have an active phobia about it, and was known to react violently and unthinkingly.  That's mostly gone, but I still dislike the sensation -- and my current favorite hat is purple silk, which people just want to touch...

I collect hats, actually, and have a few dozen of them.

I've tended to be a cap with just enough of a brim to keep the rain off my glasses person. Such caps also double as emergency mushroom carriers. (Other people have this problem, right?) But a lot of the fondness for the caps is that they accommodated long hair, so my taste might evolve.

My sister and I are close, and have a lot in common, but are in many ways very different. For instance, she's six inches shorter, and while she's done a fair bit of martial arts, she recently has been mostly working on being an aerialist. Our baby brother is six inches taller than I am. It's kind of the stair steps of evil.

So agreed with.  It's astounding what people think they have the right to do with other people's stuff...

Strangely, people also want to "have a go" with my glasses, too...

Yes. Yes, she is. I love the little involuntary audience scream when she does the drop move towards the end.
