I read the Illuminatus! Trilogy at an impressionable age, and it has left me both more susceptible to and more sceptical of conspiracy theories in fiction.

Oh, ghods, that. ::shudder:: I read it, but that was back when I still had this thing where if I started a book, I had to finish it. I'm better now. Smiley

("The Clash? Just a band. The Cure? Just a band...")
LOL and squee at the Scroubius Pip reference. (I'm sure I've spelled that wrong)

Awww.  The first fifty pages or so aside, I like it.  I still reread it every few years, when I'm feeling a little too sane.  But then, I used to be a Discordian Episkopos.  I suppose I still am, but my cabal is now defunct.

Oh, and by the way, anyone who's reading this:
You are now a genuine and authorized POPE, by the authority of the Parathea-anametamystikhood of Eris Esoteric.

Oh cool! Is there a certificate that goes with that, or should I just make one up, to hang next to my Universal Life Church ministry certificate? Smiley

(10 more jars of jelly - this time, apple/rosehip, and 8 more jars - 4 pints, 4 eight-ounce - of apple butter. From apples I picked. Not sane, says me, before taking an extra muscle relaxant and falling into bed...)

While POEE does not issue certificates, it does provide cards, available in printable format through this Pope Card generator.  You are also welcome to make a certificate if you wish, however.  I'm sure Mal-2 won't mind, wherever he's got to.
