I read the Illuminatus! Trilogy at an impressionable age, and it has left me both more susceptible to and more sceptical of conspiracy theories in fiction.

that. ::shudder:: I read it, but that was back when I still had this thing where if I started a book, I had to finish it. I'm better now.
Awww. The first fifty pages or so aside, I like it. I still reread it every few years, when I'm feeling a little too sane. But then, I used to be a Discordian Episkopos. I suppose I still am, but my cabal is now defunct.
