since The Relative first stuck Chaz, putting our hero at serious risk of AIDS. As of three months ago ( http://cvillette.livejournal.com/82797.html), Chaz's tests were still clean. But he's got one more to go. And look at what I just noticed: Well, I have to drive to Maryland tomorrow anyway. I'll call you from the car and wake you up. We'll hang out. ( http://standuponit.livejournal.com/3369.html?thread=82729#t82729) Guess he got the blood work done the day before Thanksgiving. Wonder what the turnaround time is on that test? And how nasty our PTB are going to be to him?

1. Pretty fast; and
2. Very.
OTOH, would they do that with four seasons to go?

Why not? It's not like it's instantly fatal. People have lived for years - enough for him to round out the series, if need be.

Turnaround time depends on the lab in particular. Right now, the HIV testing done at my place of employ (a county health department in NC) has a 1-month TAT. All HIV testing in NC goes through the state lab, which I guess is backed up. Usually it's only 2 weeks, but it's the Holiday Season, when government hours mean a lot of people are on vacation. I don't know what the procedure in Maryland is. HIV is highly treatable, and one of the things that's happening is that people with HIV are dying of heart disease at 65 or 70, rather than of ARC or AIDS at 25 or 30. But how the anomaly would interact with the virus is something we can't guess at, even remotely. Would it speed viral mutation rates (because beta metabolism is faster, so he'd need whopping doses of drug to achieve the concentrations required to kill virus)? Would his immune system and leet healing ability be enough to kill virus without a problem to speak of?

Marry me? In theory?

I guess we're moving to Montana, then.
In theory.
