No, it makes sense, esp. if it was Dad he had to shut up and listen to. If it'd been the GOTW, Hafs and Daphne would probably have said something about the gamma (or travelling, or bad food/coffee) in their own LJs.

He turned comments off...
He did indeed. I didn't catch that until just now.

Daphne makes a comment at one point about Chaz's AOP taking good photos, so it's possible she, at least, wasn't travelling with him. If she'd been with him she might also have known that he was going to go out after getting back...

It actually struck me as something the GOTW might have said that triggered a memory of Reyes going on about gammas being evil, etc.
Or, alternatively, he could have been referring to Brady's old spiel "The only good gamma is a dead gamma."
Which I find to be slightly more problematic.

Have I mentioned how wrong it feels to have our team go on adventures without us? Jon and Ponch never used to do that...

Oh, well, at least Duke has a scooter! That's almost the same as a motorcycle, right? Hey, maybe the PTB will give us a scene set in the gym someday.

Oh, ye of little memory! Duke rides a Harley, and it's not his first by a long shot. (Although I don't know if he ever had one that was the same model as those used by the California Highway Patrol.)

Aw, but "Duke has a Harley" isn't a funny joke! OTOH, Brady hitching a ride with Duke on his Harley would be a great sight gag.

I just had a thought this morning on the bus. It is possible - especially given Daphne's later comment about 'three days' worth of awkward silences' or something of that sort - that a certain piece of information about Chaz's childhood/teenage years and Reyes's, um, relevant inaction has come to light?* I'd've expected more fallout, if it had. But Daphne and Sol are trying to be a hands-off style of supportive of Chaz right now (orders to take the weekend off etc), and Hafs seems to have gone quiet - she and Reyes are friends, and it would hit her hard to find that out. And I could see Chaz, in his current state of mind and with his current self-doubts, giving Reyes' old theory some serious consideration. So it's a possibility. *For the record, I do think Reyes has guts, conscience and plain good sense enough to just up and tell Chaz about it now. And maybe, after having been hauled over the coals by Falkner in 'Refining Fire', even offer an apology. That is not the sort of thing he'd want Chaz to find out either by accident, or via a third party: that damage might be irreversible.
