An ex of mine used to say: A loaf of bread, a jug of wine, and thou . . . or cheese, whichever.
For myself, I am currently much enamoured of cambozola and mahon cheeses, at room temperature, with appropriate crackers. Brie and raspberry curd on baguette, warm, is a longtime favorite.

Yeah, this is bugging me, too. Because I can't think that the "he" that Chaz is referring to is William. Not in a post that someone can see. And especially not in a post that his colleagues can see.

I guessed it was Dad. Maybe he got a Stern Talking To(TM) about something he did, or Dad went off a bit about how gammas are monsters.

Both Dad and William occurred to me, too. And then the thought that they're both his father in various ways. Gyah. All kinds of Not Good.

Yeah, I'm hoping it's the GOTD that he's referring to. I wonder what this one is?

I dunno, the GOTD, depending on what his ability is, might be even worse than Dad. But yeah, that post sent me straight to the FRTFO bench, for about ten minutes.

Not only does that one-liner not sound good - but the silence of Hafidha and Daphne in response to it is deafening.

He did turn comments off, but sometimes people post to their own LJs. They've both been pretty quiet posting-wise...I know Daphne just got married, but you'd think she'd at least say something about the house-hunt, or how fantastic it is to be a boring married couple, or something.

Possibly they are heeding the 'Don't talk' part of the heading? And now Chaz is back to music posts in his journal, but none of the other WTF crew has dropped by to comment that I noticed. Something's happened, for sure; I'm just not sure what. Tricksy PTBs... ~mutters like Gollum~ ETA: No, I stand corrected, Daphne has commented. No reference to the previous post, though.

I don't think Daphne or Hafidha were ever quite as prolific as Chaz - I could be wrong, but that's my memory.
My LJ friends have a wide variety of posting habits - some post daily, some post 3-5 times a day, some post periodic "I ATEN'T DED" posts - so unless I notice a change in their pattern - a formerly prolific poster stops, without saying "going on vacation, back next week," - it doesn't twang my bow. Does that make sense?
All things considered, I wouldn't expect to see comments regarding a locked, comment-less entry in a public entry. If a friend did that to me, it would irritate me -- and Chaz has a much lower threshold for irritation than I do in that respect. I mean, he locked it and turned comments off *for a reason* no doubt.
It's not very common for my LJ friends to make a post about someone else's posting (except where memes or meta are involved, or to repost links), either obliquely or blatantly. So maybe I'm just not expecting Daphne or Hafs to say anything. They don't talk about their work very much, and if their friend just got a dressing-down from the boss-man, they're not likely to say anything about it in a public forum.
Dunno. Black mage needs sleep. Perhaps there will be more coherency later.
