Oooh, look what Emma just posted over on flickr

ETA for sufficiently out-of-it definitions of "just". The date on there is June 12th, but it just now showed up in the RSS feed... Am I the last one to notice this? It's only got three views, so maybe it just went public...

I can't make Emma's picture explain this snippet from Daphne's lj:

Quote
I think if there were a window in here that he didn't have to climb over Wonder Woman's desk to get to, he'd have his nose pressed up against the glass. Poor coyote.

(I've been saving any mention of the layout of the office in preparation for building some pages about the sets in the wiki, so I had this lying around.)

Really? It doesn't? Whose desk is in front of the window?

No, that makes perfect sense.  Wonder Woman's desk is facing the window.  That's why that wall has double lines instead of single: windows.

Funny, in spite of the window reference, I have always pictured their offices as being in the basement.

Nah.  We need a window to look out over the city and see the smoke/crater in Season 5 when something goes Horribly Wrong.  Plus it was a major point of vulnerability when the Pigeon Gamma attacked them in Season 3, and their first warning of the Purgatory Gamma in Season 4.

(And let's not forget the "Duke's Dream" episode where they're riffing on the Wonder Woman thing and that's where she parks the invisible plane.)

Oooh, pictures!   Grin

There was a period in high school when I only judged a book worthy if it came with maps, a glossary or other reference materials.  (Yes, I loved the Wheel of Time and Dune series.)  Now, I occasionally make my own cheat sheets if necessary.

Don't judge me.   Tongue

Did you know 3X5 index cards come spiral bound, which makes a dandy cheat tracker when plots or layouts get twisty?

(My fandom likes visual aids.)

Wonder Woman's, yes, but also an unlabeled desk that wouldn't require invading Lau's personal space. Or does the tiniest agent take up both desks? (this thought makes me picture Brady like the dad at work in Incredibles)

I asked this over in Flickr, but Emma sez Bear drew it so I'll ask again here.

Is the bullpen just desks or do they have those pitiful short cube walls?

And how are the chairs oriented? I can't see Chaz and Duke sitting with their backs to the doors, but I picture them facing away from them based on my memory of the text...

Love having the floorplan in case it wasn't obvious!

You'll have to ask Emma. *g*

(Also, any drawings are not to scale, and that map is actually just for our reference and subject to change without notice.)

How did I know that was going to be the answer? Pesky PTBs.  Undecided

Quote from: Elizabeth Bear, "Knock on Coffins"
Brady leaned across the divider to Nikki Lau's desk and stage-whispered, "You know, a lot of serial killers are serious sugar junkies--"

Ran into this while doing Reyes-research.  Looks like a vote for those awful short cube walls.

(Well, shorter than Brady, at least.)

I still have my Atlas of Pern, and might have the Middle Earth one too.
