We know the ACTF does some kind of outreach/education to help other agencies/coroners' offices identify cases that might ought to be refered to WTF. So, what do these materials look like? Poster slogans, anyone?

~dies laughing~  tylik, great minds think alike!

First line of poster: a very very large WTF?

Second line: If you're thinking this, you need us.

Last line: Nikki Lau's contact details.

While boring little me was thinking: "I'll bet they just send out those boring memos/adobe acrobat posters that managers like me are told to post in breakrooms even though we know no one ever pays attention to them."

I like your idea better.  Smiley

Actually, given that they're pretty much trying to fly under the radar even while sending out publicity/education information, your idea's probably a lot closer to the mark.

I bet a lot of it gets done face-to-face, though - at conferences, and in the aftermath of cases.  Also by word of mouth, with various law enforcement and first-responder types passing hints to colleagues along the lines of 'if you see anything really weird in this sort of way, these are the people you need to talk to'.

That's something I'd like to see in an episode.  Knowing our PTB, I wouldn't be surprised to see it turn up soon.  How a police department somewhere makes that contact, or how the question (wtf is this?) moves from the local cops to the WTF.  Might make a nifty easter egg on an episode, or a deleted scene or something.  *bats eyelashes at the PTB*

You do know the perversity of writers, right? That's the absolute best way to make us go out of our way to avoid showing any such thing....

Unless, of course, you're just saying that to convince us that it's never going to happen, so that when it does happen, we'll be surprised....

Jenny, I'd really like to see your idea of the "boring memo/adobe acrobat posters" that might be sent out to suggest that the ACTF is an available resource.  Would you make one up and post it here?  I'm probably not the only one who would like to see it.

ha!

I'll try.

I can't promise it will be anytime soon, as I seem to have most of my free time booked up in the near future.  (pics to scan and send in for reunion, mother's day present that I just decided I was going to make, reunion trip to finish planning, and a dozen other much more boring errands that are long overdue)

However, the memo would be a easy thing to do at work when I should be, you know, working. Smiley
