These boards are open for comment, discussion, critique, speculation, fanfiction, and pointing out typos.

We ask only that you please be polite, and understand that it's not our intention to defend our storytelling choices here, though we're certainly open to discussing them when convenient.

Also, it's inevitable that we will make mistakes, factual or chronological. Sometimes this will be due to ignorance or oversight. Sometimes it will be because we decided that unreality made a better story than reality. (The classic movie Mexican standoff with automatic pistols that turn out to be empty--doesn't work in real life; makes great theatre.)

So, you know. Feel free to point things out, discuss, ask questions. We consider you guys co-conspirators, and we hope you'll enjoy coming along for the ride.

Has anyone noticed new posts *not* showing up in the "Show unread posts since last visit." area? Sometimes I will exhaust that way of seeing new posts and then go to the front page and find the litte red/black buttons by the topics indicating that there are new posts in the sub-threads. And sometimes the indicator buttons don't show that there are new posts, but if I go under a topic I will see little "NEW" signs next to topics with new posts. It means that I have to do a lot of hunting, or else miss new posts.

Is this just me?

Chaz: On belay?

 Daphne: Belay on.

It's not just you. I solve it by frequent reloads and checking the "last post" line at the bottom of the page.

If nothing shows up under "Show unread posts since last visit" I then check "Click here to try all unread topics" (right next to "No unread topics found since your last visit").  That sometimes gives me new posts that were missed.

Mostly I've noticed that if a board says "new posts" and I click on the link to read the most recent post, the "new posts" thing will go away even if other threads on the board have been updated as well.
