On my previous phone, 2 was customer service and 9 was 911, but I could reprogram them. Tmobile set it up so that 123 was voicemail for everyone, so I don't remember what 1 was. That's why my husband was 3. After the first phone I had, I always kept him at 3 so I could remember. He had me on 8 for Ada.

I haven't found speed dial per se on my G1 Googlephone, but you can mark numbers as favorites so they show up first on the favorites list, and after that come most frequently used (taking into account both received and dialed numbers).

Have you tried powering the phone down and back up?

When they cange things at the carrier level, oft-timed your phone won't get the message (heh!) until it reboots, and checks in with the network to see what the current rules are.

Also, the "Voicemail" number might be reprogrammable in the phone.  It is on mine.

"I wanted to tell you both. I've met someone."

"Danny, that's good," his mother said, sounding strange and strained and cautious. "What's--"

"His name's Grayson. He works for the State Department."
