So...I've been browsing the boards a bit trying to figure something out.

Has it ever been revealed or discussed whether there is a genetic link to the Anomaly?  Like, it shows up as something mutated in DNA?

What I've been thinking about it, and I checked on the pathogen thread, is an environmental vector for the Anomaly.  Like, it's either always been part of the world and it's hard coded into us and cracks just appear when they appear, or it is a genetic breakdown, or some people have a propensity towards the Anomaly.  Or, is it like a weird messed up symbiont (McCaffrey's Crystal Singer novels come to mind, though clearly there's no immortality given here)?

I'm not always the most observant, so I wonder what I've missed and if there's anything that pointed in a genetic direction - or even if there were inquiries in that direction at Idlewood.

It's been hypothesized, esp. post-Relative. But it hasn't been proven one way or the other AFAIK.

I think we've discussed that at least two or three times.

Which is totally my bad.  I did some poking around, but never found anything really satisfying.  It got talked around quite a bit on the pathogen thread.
