Because we can write our own damn / -- but whole strong flawed heroes who enhance each other? That's what brings me.
And bonus, we get T. and Tasha and neat Extended Circle folk.

Where were you when I was trying to explain this to Mulder/Scully 'shippers during the early years of The X-Files? (*g*)

Ahem. Fox + Dana = 4eva. Thank you. Unit-wise, despite initial disappointment, I've been impressed by how the PTB have handled the 'ships in this season - each character, save Hafs, has been shown to have about as much relationship as they can handle. (Sorry,Chaz.) I gleefully await the day the PTB puts the boot to that anthill. Which brings me to a new Season Two wish: - Hafidha Gates and The Dating Game. Hafs is over the wangst, done the moaning and the flailing! It's time to find that mythical Not-Boring-Boy!

Um... Hafs is happily triading it.
Rilly.
Or are you campaigning for a 4th?

Hafs has been not very talky about it, but yep, Hafs has a NotaBoy AND the NotaBoy has a Girl. I think she doesn't say much about Erik and Gail because, well, she's not certain yet if it's safe to notice this is working. *g*

Hm, I admit I'd dismissed the LJ thing - frankly, Hafs seemed uncomfortable with it, so I wasn't sure it would last. If you say it's stable, I'd modify the wish to "Hafs stops making Gail and Eric do all the work."

[Edited 'cause it was TMI] From where I lay, it sounds like she's in a damned good setup for an intensely private person who needs both skin & heart hunger fed and me-space.
Orange blossoms and Shouting to the World "Lookit!" is optional, truly.

How are Erik and Gail doing all the work?
Nerving up to introducing Gail to Haf and the Youngsters? Behaving like this is a relationship first? Putting up with being called "Not-A-Boy/Girl"? Perhaps I am being unfair to Hafs, but Eric was the convenient guy for a long time there. I must admit, however, that I am having a awful time keeping up with this piece of the story. The LJs are fun, but they're also a terribly noisy channel for me - it's so easy to miss a comment or forget a six-month old event.

Ahem. Fox + Dana = 4eva. Thank you. Heeee. You're welcome. (It was tougher for me back then, when XF was almost the only show available that showed a man and a woman working together as partners and equals and professionals. Just two cops workin' cases. It was so exciting to see a show whose writers seemed to see the characters as interesting people first, and gendered interesting people second.)

Frankly, I tend to think of that show as the start of both 'shipping and anti-'ship: Every week, I'd alternate between "Damn, together they're invincible!" and "DAMN, they'd be hot together!"

I suspect that our tricksy PTB consider that a feature, not a bug. On the other hand, it's an excuse to keep throwing stuff into the Wiki.
