...and I'll bet that "by the book" room clearing involves more than one LEO.
Low Earth Orbit? Oh! Law Enforcement Officer. Gotcha.

Low Earth Orbit? Oh! Law Enforcement Officer. Gotcha. You can clear rooms from Low Earth Orbit. "Throw rocks at them Mike!" "Right Man!"

Nah, I immediately thought LEO was Low Earth Orbit myself, but twigged after a few seconds thought that Law Enforcement Officer made much more sense. You can clear rooms from Low Earth Orbit. "Throw rocks at them Mike!" "Right Man!" More like you can clear a county from orbit. Clearing just a room would be a tad finicky, methinks. [Edit:] el jefe, your Air Force predjudices are showing.

"Throw rocks at them Mike!" "Right Man!" Mmmmmm. Love that book; one of my two favorite Heinleins (the other is Glory Road). I always wanted a bumper sticker with "For intelligent conversation, dial MYCROFTXXX" on it...

It is MY favorite Heinlein of all! Except for the one I'm currently reading... If you make that bumper sticker, I want one. Was I the only adolescent girl who had a crush on Mike (and still does, really)?

Alas, I lack a printer and paper that would work (somehow, I don't think an ink-jet would make a permanent enough copy, y'know? *Wry*) Was I the only adolescent girl who had a crush on Mike (and still does, really)?
No, you weren't. Anyone know which magazine it was serialized in before publication as a book? 'Cause whichever it was, that was the one my father subscribed to that year, and that's where I read it first. (In installments. Aaaarrrgggghhhh. Waiting a month for the next section - can't remember whether there were five or six installments, and my Google-fu is week today.)

You know, maybe we should just make an "off topic" thread so the PTB dont have to keep splitting threads that wander astray

We have a bunch of ex-alt.callahans types here. Thread drift was raised to an art form there. (All topics drifting towards food is a Shadow Unit innovation.)

*peals of laughter* Oh ghods, yes. alt.fan.pratchett did the same, and those two places were my introduction to the net. (All topics drifting towards food is a Shadow Unit innovation.)
