Anyway, this got me thinking: I could do a rewrite. And we could post the two versions side by side for you to look at, to see just how fiddly we can get. Would you guys be interested in that?
Let me think abouYes!

This from the author of the Cat V. Monkey series. Who, of course, knows all about being trained.

If you can tell me how to get Toby not to do the "Are you done with that?" routine over my toast plate, I'll implement the solution. *g* (Toby is mad for toast crumbs.)

So I mentioned that the scene between Chaz and Daphne, when he asks her to give him his gun, got left on the cutting room floor of my brain. So, also, did the reasonably detailed description of what he's taking home, and my word choice for what I did describe was careless. Shame, shame on author! I don't want to get Duane busted for this.

See, I thought the stuff you use to treat scarring would be referred to/thought of as wound dressing. Ointment, the weird blue chillable silicon strips (3M strikes again!) you lay over the scars, the wrapping you use to keep them on overnight. You guys probably remember Chaz talking about scarring prevention in his LJ. Now I'm going to have to find out what medical professionals call those supplies.

Anyway, this got me thinking: I could do a rewrite. And we could post the two versions side by side for you to look at, to see just how fiddly we can get. Would you guys be interested in that?

Please, please, pretty please?

This SU writer fully supports the right to revise. If I remember correctly, Conan Doyle made some changes for later editions. And if I don't remember correctly, I'm happy to launch the myth.

I know that the PTB's are above such things as material gains, but you could probably auction off any handwritten notes or revisions and make a couple bucks and a couple happy fans. Or even electronic copies of an episode, say all the drafts ect up to a final copy burned on a CD with the authors signature on the disc and a certificate of authenticity?

And the handwritten notes/drafts would make a great graphic for a bag/jacket/mug.  Just sayin.....

Ms. Bull, could I possibly ask for a bit of guidance? I did a little bit of digging to try and find the lovely-sounding cold silicone dressing you were referring to about a page back. I couldn't locate anything from 3M. By any chance is this http://wound.smith-nephew.com/se/node.asp?NodeId=3269 what you were thinking of?

My hospital experience ended about a week after our mutual friend's, with much less trauma but possibly even more flamboyant scarring. The doctors wouldn't let me put anything even close to the incision until it was well and truly closed, which makes perfect sense. But now that it is, anything I could point them at that might moderate the appearance or the discomfort would be very, very, much appreciated.

Sorry--I misremembered! The brand name is Cica-Care, the company is Smith-Nephew, and the website is here: http://www.cicacare.com/. A web search suggests that there are quite a few manufacturers of silicon sheets to reduce scarring now. But that website at least is a start, so you can show your doctor or pharmacist what you're talking about.

There are also topical creams and gels made to inhibit scarring; your pharmacist can tell you about them, and which ones are likely to work best for you.

None of these things eliminate scars, but they reduce them substantially.
