... and, unsurprisingly, you folks are unbearably mean to Our Chaz. Again.

At this point, I would have been surprised if they hadn't been 'mean' to him.

More importantly, though - he's clearly not going to be caught out again. Even if his weapon is digging into his side. But, damn, I wish Daphs had talked her way into carrying that bag upstairs; Chaz is going to be in serious trouble if he can't accept backup when needed, and I'll bet that "by the book" room clearing involves more than one LEO.

I'm sure that The Booktm has a number of ways of clearing a room, with the optimal one having a minimum of three LEOs. However, it will also have a 'one person only' version, even if it is hidden in the footnotes and deprecated, 'cause sometimes you get caught alone.

Which is, of course, when the Grue gets you.

Snacking, folks, snacking. I don't know where you got any other ideas, and frankly I'm not sure I want to know =)

When he mentions not having anything volatile in his fridge, I wonder about his Shoggoth.  Did I miss what happened to it?  Is someone serving as its foster family?

My edition of The Booktm shows the optimal method of clearing a room involving air strikes and laser designators from a long ways away.

But you can sort of clear a room or an apt solo, if you accept that your window of vulnerability is going to be a bit large.

With a shoggoth, you feed, divide, and cook part - or all, making two batches - of the the half you *didn't* return to the fridge - you leave some of the fed shoggoth for the *next* baking...

I have a shoggoth
He pleases me
He makes batches of bread for me.

You folks are going to force me into writing fanfic, aren't you. Just to be with these folks.

Good writing practice, though.

Shockingly, there will be new content tonight.

And there is much rejoicing!

Of course, once said content is actually up, there will no doubt be much anguish as the tricksy PTBs do nasty things to Our Beloved Characters, along with Evil Chortling and Munching of Popcorn by said PTBs. Stock up on Not Worrying Cookies, folks!

I'm guessing that a DC summer means apartments, even those where neighbors visit regularly to feed an angry kitteh, even those where windows are left ajar for said kittehs, can heat up rapidly in the afternoon sun.

I'm guessing much of the stuffiness and staleitude were supplied by Chaz' memory/imagination.  Coz otherwise my disbelief might need a new suspension, and I can't afford expensive repairs.

* glinda_w just found the latest bit (sneaky trick of guessing what the next filename will be works well).

Oh, Chaz. *sigh* What a horrible, horrible moment that must've been.

Oh, Chaz. *sigh* What a horrible, horrible moment that must've been.

It's a great trick.

But who wants to bet we'll get slightly more random filenames after this? Smiley

ETA: And yes. That's definitely an Oh, Chaz moment.

Oh, we're just going to start making you guess them.

All of them.

All of them.

Since you already know you're evil, consider this a statement of the obvious.

That was an elegantly constructed piece.  Says a lot with a little, and packs a really strong emotional punch.  It's really interesting finding out what's been going on out of sight behind the LJ entries...
