I love how you guys are volunteering your towns for a rash of some unspecified but guaranteed-dreadful inexplicable crimes...

Heck, I'd volunteer my likeness for a victim, if it didn't mean I might have to stop talking to Chaz, Daphne and Hafs.

Oh, and Anne?  You've had one in your state, at least.  We PNWers haven't even had one in our region yet!  Don't be greedy!  And stood up or not, you will always have the distinction of being the first Delta inducted into cannon.  (But hopefully not the last.)

Not surprising. Everybody knows that stuff still in beta isn't fully reliable ...

And once you get outside Seattle, there's all those little towns strung out on the highways and along the coast. Towns that lived, then died, with the lumber mill or fishing fleet. Narrow roads, old growth forests here and there, large wilderness areas, fast moving rivers. Hikers. No, hikers are passe. A gamma at Microsoft? It would explain so much...

Constance County is made of fiction, just like many other things in the SU universe.
Of course. But still, my "Hey, wait..." kicked in, and gave me some distractions to take care of before I could finish reading. (Then my distractions gave me *more* distractions... I've got the attention span of a gnat on speed.)

And we did explain why we had to do that, right? Because a real county has a real county sheriff's department, and if we're going to cast aspersions on said department, we don't want to go dissing real people in a real place. It's not polite. And if I ever drive through Carroll County, MD, I don't want to spend a night in jail in a case of *ahem* "mistaken identity." *g*

*snicker* No dissing cops. I hear they don't like it very much Wink I don't recall seeing that explanation, but I wasn't reading the forum then, either.

(But Carroll County is central MD... rural as hell, but central. One of my mom's brothers and my grandparents live there. Getting less rural by the day, though, with DC & Balto commuters moving up. Hey, were you basing it on Bartonsville?)

In the town-creation, we were sort of riffing off Sykesville http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sykesville%2C_Maryland.

(And someday I'm going to figure out how to embed a link in a word or phrase here, rather than simply creating a live-link url.)

instead of doing [ link]{url}[ /link], do [ link={url}]{link text}[ /link]

Wouldn't it, though?

The PNW is Serial Killer Central, or so I'm told.
Ooo!  I wanna see something set in Sequim, just to see that name in an SU episode.  Then we'll get to explain how to pronounce it!  Besides, turning pretty images (like all those beautiful lavender fields) into creepy ones would be kinda neat.
