Cuckoo in the nest? Mid-season, so...gamma just wants to be loved? Hmm.

Naw. It's the dreaded Clock Gamma. I'd bet money on it. (Up to a nickel, even.)

He smiled slightly, just the tiniest quirk at the corner of his lips. "Yes, ma'am."

Snacking, folks, snacking. I don't know where you got any other ideas, and frankly I'm not sure I want to know =)

Oh, no! There's no author! It's going to be SU's first Alan Smithee episode!

Heeee--don't tempt us. Seriously, we just haven't determined the best way to take up the slack on that one, since it was going to be a collaboration between Will and me, and now that there's not the Will, we have to decide on the way. *ahem* I may do it myself, or we may divide things up differently. As soon as we make up our minds, you guys will hear about it!

The idea of a cuckoo makes me think of the Quantico Gamma. I don't think the timing works out for the episode to be the story of that incident, but I wonder if there's a connection.

All the talk over on the "Wind-up Boogeyman" thread has gotten me into a speculative mood.... The titles seem to relate to the theme, the UNSUB, and the team* which has me wondering which team member(s) "Cuckoo" refers to. (assuming it does, of course) Hafidha was my first thought, because she is adopted. But it might possibly refer to Danny; we've been told that he isn't what his parents were expecting in many ways. Then there's the fact that Faulkner and Nikki were both put on the team in order to report to Celentano, which could fit the idea of a cuckoo. Really, it could be about any of them - but those are my guesses for now. *much like CM, she notes

Trying to put this in the timeline.... If we're right about Smoke and Mirrors being set in February and realted to Chaz's "I'm so, so, so, so sorry" post to Daphs and Hafidha, then Cuckoo would be set somewhere between November and February. The strongest indication of a gamma hunt we can find in the livejournals in that period is late January, when Chaz writes his "down the rabbit hole" ghost story during a long, boring stakeout. I did just spend three days in the car with somebody who's been working on a novel since 1969.... I guess the someone who's been working on a novel is someone local? Can't be Duke, he's written and published several novels in that time, and the others on the team are too young.

Many are the writers who churn our category paperbacks under assumed names to make ends meet in lean times: this is not the same as a SRS NVL. (In addition to romance and media tie-ins, porn is also traditional.) MG, I read it in public.... *g*
