Interesting implication of "monster" as opposed to "evil" is that we embrace lovable monsters (see Sesame Street)- it's a word with some positive connotations, or at least not entirely negative.

Cookie Monster is a Beta?

That would explain a few things.

"You know I'm a profiler."

He smiled slightly, just the tiniest quirk at the corner of his lips. "Yes, ma'am."

Cookie Monster isn't skinny enough. But lovable, furry old Grover is--have you seen those teeny little arms of his?

Nooooo! Don't click the link! There is a MONSTER at the end of this episode!

Or at least at the end of this one. (To which Siskel and Ebert both gave thumbs up.)

If we follow this line of inquiry to its logical conclusion, then the Anomaly may turn out be a purple T-Rex.....

NOW you've done it!  You said that where the PTB can hear!

They like a challenge, you know...

Well, something's gotta eat T. rexes.

(Probably not that one, though. I doubt even our extraordinarily tricksy PTB would take on a copyright challenge like that for the series finale.)
