Oh, yeah, being out in public with a baby or small child is also just asking for unsolicited advice and disapproval.

Oh yes. I did come close to offering to give my youngest to the woman who thought she could do a much better job of parenting him.

I teach antenatal classes and remind the parents-to-be that they will be magnets for unsolicited advice and horror stories and to ignore the whole lot. I suggest that they smile if they can, but I might consider suggesting a large stick for when it all becomes too much. Maybe I could have a nosy-parker-beating-stick as the prize in my end of course quiz???

Because clearly, since I'm female, I must be stupid and/or incompetent to raise a child, especially my own, and total strangers will naturally know more about it than I.

Oh, no, men get it even more. Because of course men all think babies are footballs that cry.

You mean they aren't?  Wink

Sorry, just trying to supply some humour to a topic that's annoying/depressing me way too much. But then, stupidity offends me deeply. I'll have to make a point of offering to be the plausibly deniable rude person on behalf of my friends with kidlings. Oy........

Snacking, folks, snacking. I don't know where you got any other ideas, and frankly I'm not sure I want to know =)

It is true, on many occasions I mistook my little brothers and my younger cousins for various pieces of sports paraphernalia... very embarrassing.

I believe that when I finally have the chance to have kids, I may have to spend my entire pregnancy in hiding.  Because I would start hitting people with things.

Use the butt, and save the bayonet for the really obnoxious instances.

My idea was less "Addy had the Anomaly and passed it to Chaz" and more "the Anomaly passed through Addy to get to Chaz."  Basically, my thought was that William's rape of Addy was the crack, and because Chaz was the most physical manifestation of that, he ended up with the Anomaly instead of Addy.  Addy was never anomalous.

Assuming that nothing else happened to Addy. She had a troubled life.

I'd suggest a clue bat, except I haven't found one yet that actually caused the recipients of beatings therefrom to achieve cluefullness.

But not until after she was raped.  And we've seen no evidence that she, herself, was anomalous.
