Update: The jacket is made by Jerzees, here are the specs.
Traditional Nylon Lined Coach’s Jacket

2.1 oz. 100% water resistant nylon taffeta shell with 2.3 oz. kasha lining
Men’s: S – 3X
• Athletic raglan sleeves
• Full cut with side seams
• Double lined spread collar
• Five matching snaps are strong and durable
• Front slash pockets
• Matching bottom draw cord
• Covered elastic cuffs
• Kasha lining is a soft flannel weave

A zip up version will be approx double the cost, and a womans version is around $60 because of the cut of the jacket and lining.

MEN'S SIZING CHART*

XS.... Chest 30-32..... Neck 13.5-14....Sleeve 30.5-31.5
S ......Chest 34-36..... Neck 14-14.5....Sleeve 32-33
M......Chest 38-40..... Neck15-15.5 ....Sleeve 34-35
L.......Chest 42-44..... Neck 16-16.5... Sleeve 35-36
XL.....Chest 46-48......Neck 17-17.5... Sleeve 36.5-37.5
2XL...Chest 50-52..... Neck 17.5-18 ...Sleeve 37.5-38.5

*This is a Port Authority sizing chart, which is the Jerzees parent company. I couldn't find a Jerzees jacket chart, only a t-shirt one.

So, based on this, I think the order will be for the 5 snap jacket in a mens cut. I'm going to leave the slots open until Sunday, June 8th, and then put in the total order information on Monday morning for the final quote.

Men's large. (I tend to wear a 42 jacket.)

Will, I'm planning on stopping buy the shop to look at the jackets if they have some on hand, or checking out the local Wal Mart to see if they stock it (doubtful, this time of year). If I notice anything "off" on the sizing, I'll post it here.

Better make mine a medium. *sigh*

ETA On second thought, I just checked and my winter jacket is a Men's small from Eddie Bauer. Let's go with a Small.

Mens 3X if there's still a spot available after the 'maybes' chime back in.  This will go perfectly will the shiny black cop shoes I found.  Smiley

There's plenty of room, we can do more than 20. I just didn't put any more numbers.  Wink

Right, I'd rather have it be too big and just tell people I borrowed Agent Brady's coat than have it be too small and cry. Unless you can actually lay your hands on one before the order and get a tape measure across it I'm going to assume the size chart doesn't allow much ease.

(As you know, Bob, ease is a fitting term meaning the difference between the measurement the body is assumed to be and the actual measurement of the garment in question. For example, a shirt may be sized as a medium, and listed as being for a chest measurement of 36-38 inches, but the shirt will measure out at 42 inches to allow the wearer some range of motion. Also ease is what keeps all our clothes from looking like they are made of cling wrap.)

So put me down for a size large.  I can push up too long sleeves more easily than I can stand owning yet another garment that will not close across my... chest.  Roll Eyes

Don't feel bad, the only clothes that come close to fitting me correctly are custom made or tailored. And that was before I picked up an extra 40lbs.  Tongue

I'm short. With broad shoulders for my height. And have, ahem, a chest. So most clothes are either made for someone my height or for someone of my bone structure or for someone with my endowments. On a good day a piece of clothing hits two of the three.

Let's not talk about the times I had to have a business suit. I need about six months lead time to find a suit that fits enough it can be tailored to fit  that I do not hate.

Working out (for fitness, not weight loss) only made clothing shopping differently difficult.

It's easy to find shoes that fit me- as long as I look in the boys department. Where, oddly enough, I rarely find anything that goes with my dressy clothes. On the other hand, nifty sneakers with cool designs on them are something of a signature of mine for casual wear. Yes, indeed I did buy myself a set of Hot Wheels sneakers with flames on them and wear them to death.
