Annnnnd, it's up and it's good.

Coherent commenting willl have to wait for daylight and a re-read. Or two.

However comma first reactions, jumbled as they may be and spoiler laden

No. Really. spoiler laden material below, do not proceed if you haven't read "Breathe".

Gah. New Kid Jitters is too familiar. I grew up a military brat.

Great scene setting, character introductions. Brain kept offering camera shots for this. Mom and Dad. (Right, let the drinking game begin. Somebody want to help write the rules?)

Poor Duke. Cast into the outer darkness ie North Dakota. (typoed: outre darkness, srsly.)  Scooby jokes.

This taser goes up to eleven. Oh dear.

We have a plane? Drink! On the plane, reading the files, reading each other. Lovely to get the official skinny on the Anomaly from the characters' points of view.

The bit with Brady and the folding chair sticks with me, just that lovely little bit of reveal in what one character sees that speaks volumes about another.

Please don't ever make me have to talk to Frost. She scares me. I wanted to read this bit sidelong so she couldn't look through the phone and out of the screen and see me.

And the team work, the interviews, the together we are smarter/better than we are apart, yay.  Pieces slot in. If one of these things is not like the others then we don't have all the information yet.

Note to Dad: putting the new kids together and off to one side while you go in to get the bad guy? Never works. Because, you know, uneventful, it all went fine isn't much of a story. But still the right call.

Chaz. Oh honey. Daphs, likewise.

(True thing: I saw the episode had posted and I went and got myself one of the very fine hand made chocolates I am hoarding, kind of a treat to celebrate while I read. So I was kind of chuckling there at the very end.)

Bed. re-read and further comments in morn- later today.

I loved.

And was struggling for breath along with Daphne. (or should I call her Worth?)

Mostly, I call her Daphne. But Falkner calls her Worth, so you can do whatever seems comfortable, I think.

Since I didn't write this one, I feel like I can squee about it a little. I love the description of the ranch house, the rambler that doesn't ramble far. And Chaz and Daphne sniffing around each other and deciding to be friends before they have to go save each other's lives. And the existential terror, yes, that is Madeline Frost. And Chaz's ruthlessness, recklessness, and disregard for his personal safety, there at the end. Kid's such a gambler. He gives me heart palpitations, too.

Oh, but this made me happy!

First impression: Best part is that, though the LJs, I already know some of these people in a "what happened next" sort of way, so reading Daphne's arrival to WTF is like reminiscing by the fire about those first scary days.

(I seriously need to stop seeing and hearing Reid when I read about Chaz, though.)

More on re-read, I'm sure!

Hee. Well, Chaz and Reid report to the same archetype, don't they? But I suspect Chaz would give Reid a heart attack.

Probably several, in graduated sizes.

I love Reid with a love that is fearsome and scary, but....Reid had a loving parent, despite the awfulness of her mental illness.  I would bet my molars Chaz um, did not.

Appealing as that is, we do have ask you don't violate anyone else's copyright on this site.

So crossover fanfic couldn't be posted or linked here, I'm afraid. (Which does not stop you from doing it in your own space, of course. But we can only license derivative works of our own property.)
