What was that symbol on the last part?
It's the Chinese fire symbol. I have to admit that I used it as a placeholder- it should be a network logo or symbology specific to the show, but I couldn't think of anything appropriate. But fire _is_ appropriate to the show. Fire, controlled, warming; vs. fire, uncontrolled, consuming = beta vs. gamma. And so forth.

Alas. It won't play for me. Quicktime hates me.
Sorry about that... QuickTime has better compression for hi-def material. I've converted to an ever so slightly lower quality MPEG-4 video for you. You can access it at http://shadowunit.weare224.org/TeaserAlpha.mp4

Nraven, that one worked better for me. It may be processor speed: I've got a G3 Mac.
I can't think of any reason you shouldn't put that on youtube. It's swell!

Thank you to everyone for the kind words. I'm inspired to start working on one that's a little more involved. As Emma pointed out, the networks are fairly aggressive when it comes to pushing new shows, so I'll don my Evil Corporate Media Mogul pants and do my best to give the public A.D.D.

My eventual plan with my DAZ|Studio noodling is to be able to do images for something like this...

For people who can't get them to work: download the file and run it from your hard drive.
I use Konqueror browser on Linux and can't stream either version of the video, but both files worked fine for me after I downloaded them. Something funky in the network stack, most likely.

Anyone more computer savvy than me know how I can convince my computer to download what plug-in it is I need to play this? It keeps starting and then telling me it can't download the plug-in. It did it when trying to view it online and did the same thing when I downloaded it.

Are you trying to play the .mov file or the .mp4 file? The former requires Quicktime, which you can download from Apple; the latter should be playable in WinAmp or iTunes. You should also be able to play both of them in the VLC Media Player, which you can get at www.videolan.org . (I use VLC for pretty much everything these days...)

just a reminder that if you can't get Quicktime to work properly, or have problems with the way it takes over things, there's an alternative for Windows, called, um, Quicktime Alternative.
It's free, uses Media Player Classic and isn't quite as obnoxious.
