As long as the sparkly one gets shot (a lot!), I'm okay with that.

"Danny, that's good," his mother said, sounding strange and strained and cautious. "What's--"

"His name's Grayson. He works for the State Department."

Three Gammas.  All with "I'm a Vampire" mythology.  Only, they all have very different ideas of what a Vampire is.  They meet up.  HijinksUnspeakable horrors ensue.

Is one of them called Edward?[/innocent]

you know that for the shots to take effect the syringe must be made of wood. Nobody solved that particular problem yet.

Keeping this ep around as fuzzy blanket to ward off (inevitably) chills of future ones.

Anyone want to join me in thinking that Brady knows a little more about comics than he's letting on? Presumably from his childhood, not the recent CBLDF-ish bits that he's baffled by. He is an actor, after all, and likes keeping new teammates off-balance.
"To the Batmobile," Brady said...
"Origin story," Brady corrected.
"Sidekick," Brady put in.
"... keep the story going for another hundred issues."
Of course, Brady would have made a rather good superhero himself, if Tan hadn't been available and good at voices. My mental picture for Captain America is Brady playing uncynical.

Given the prevalence of post-credit monster's-not-dead moments in horror films, you'd think a lot of gammas would have comeback issues.

(I hope the PTB don't see this.  I don't need a gammapire.)

Oh, look! An ECR!  *runs offstage while PTB are distracted*

It's not gammapires I'm thinking of, though that would be interesting. (And the "three squabbling gammapires" idea makes me giggle, it really does.) It's the way comic book villains come back in particular, and the way some of them come back with a larger organization behind them.

It's not an "all gammas have issues" thing I'm thinking about; it's Moriarity. It's the recent comic book villain connecting up with someone who's got a plan and an organization and a track record... and an agenda. It's this:  http://www.shadowunit.org/conspiracy.html.

this is the structure that the rest of the story arc will flesh out, don't you think? (I think we didn't want to say too much earlier: we're part of the conspiracy, too)

The telling quality of our generation? Me to 9-year-old last week: "Yes, but which kind of vampire, darling?"

... as we know perfectly well there are. Many of whom are getting 3 meals a day on the government's dime in Idlewood.

Hmm. That'd be an interesting twist. We don't need a dramatic super hero break out event to get Morrison (and...) out of Idlewood.

Quote
"Biding his time for the inevitable Arkham jailbreak," Tan said in an ominous voice.

Brady nodded. "Unfortunately for Morrison, nobody busts villains out of Idlewood to keep the story going for another hundred issues."

He cut off the last syllable too fast. Tan restrained himself from cocking an eyebrow: That we know of, floated into the subtext. He looked disturbed.

Briefly, Arthur Tan wondered what Agent Brady was hiding.

Another hundred issues... or another (how many?) episodes!!!

What do we know about what Arthur Tan knows about Hafs being gone and then back again? He may be able to hold his own with the team, may even be ready for the WTF cases, but is he ready for the team to be... special?
