We're running late--sorry, guys! But we'll air this baby with pride in its entirety next Sunday. Can I offer you spoilers?

In this episode, Hafidha SPOILER. So Chaz decides to SPOILER, which causes Hafs to SPOILER. Meanwhile, Reyes is SPOILER, having talked to SPOILER about SPOILER.

Honest. Would I SPOILER to you?

In a heartbeat.

It's why we love you.

Just refreshed.  It was apparently too early.  Or maybe I'm Doing It Wrong.

Nah, you're not Doing It Wrong, it's still early. Sometimes the episodes don't air until about 8 or 9 Pacific time...

Damn. Read three-quarters of the way through then had to gohome to read the rest. A very restrained episode I think, although we see progress on the succession front and the Hafidah front.   One wording query - it said quiet, should it have been quite?

Just finished it on the way in to work, some complicated ethical questions about what the WTF do to gammas and how it will change with Esther in charge. I think Season One Reyes would have bundled Pennicuik into Idlewood in a heartbeat.

Poor Hafida, she's not wrong in some ways to be worried about a sort of secondary institutionalization. She's dangerous, she may never stop being dangerous, but if they don't treat her like she can be better she has no incentive to be better. Middle ground is hard but she's starting to fight for it.

Quiet and dark and sad and hopeful and bitter with loss.  Not necessarily in that order.

And the best use of second-person I have ever read, ever.

Thank you.

I liked seeing the Bug from Haf's point of view, and how much control she does or doesn't have over it.
And also thanks for putting a uplifting ending on it, that things do get better with time, and with friends talking things out.

I fear that the team bungled this one. The guy was relatively benign (relatively!!!) and now they've got to keep him under surveillance. And electronic surveillance won't do since Falkner told him they would see anything he did electronically. What's stopping him from stepping away from the dating sites and picking up victims the old fashioned way? How're they going to keep an eye on that?

Well, maybe the cleaner will tidy him up before it becomes a problem. ECR.

SA Bollinger joins a long line of awesome guest LEOs.

I don't know about Hafs and Chaz. It'd be nice if Hafs could accept some help with keeping the Bug on its leash, but I guess I can see why she can't. But she should see that she needs to be more transparent (heh) about what she's up to if she doesn't want people freaking out every time she starts jamming. Chaz maybe can trust her as an act of love and faith, but the rest of the team shouldn't be expected to. Trust needs to be earned.

I think that's pretty much why it happened - they weren't expecting someone with the Anomoly to be relatively benign...  Heck, maybe he wasn't a Gamma at all, just a nasty Beta.

I'm thinking he might be a target (as in recruiting-type) for our mysterious, theoretical organization of gamma-recruiters, if they are indeed not the same as the cleaners.

And yeah, I'd put him in the category of "bugged Beta", without (so far) the external manifestation.  So, a first-stage Hafs.

And now I'm wondering what a second-stage manifestation would look like for him.  Being physically perceived as the ideal mate? Pushing someone toward that feeling of total loss and possible suicide?  Causing actual suicide by removing the mental barrier between thoughs of suicide and actions to do it?  All scary thoughts.

And even with the scary thoughts, it's a warm and happy episode for me.  Go figure.
