...Well, someone had to bring it up. (Premiered last night on SyFy. I don't have cable. So talk among yourselves as you see fit.)

I've heard it's terrible, and not in the fun way.

I'm actually hoping fans LOVE it. Then maybe they'll hear that SU is, er, kind of like it, and come read SU to get more of that stuff.

I give it a C+, with a provisional understanding that it could just be one of those shows that needs a little time to achieve its full potential.
I like David Strathairn a lot, so you know, its got that going for it. I'm afraid the pilot plot wasn't exactly innovative, being a mix of Mouseketeer roll call and Crime Of The Week. I called several plot/character points and the Big Twist, to the Spousal Unit's amusement. I'll grant the characters have disads to go with their talents. Some of the banter didn't suck though none of it stuck in my head as particularly memorable. The effects around the Speaker To Electronic Transmissions guy sure were pretty. And I laughed out loud when Strathairn subverted the 'ratchet up the suspense by fumbling with the keys to the cabinet' bit by realizing he could, just, you know, break the damn glass.
We'll see. Eureka and Warehouse 13 are back, it's possible my light-hearted genre slots are already full. Leverage has my caper needs covered and between SU and Criminal Minds I've got hot and cold running Things That Disturb My Sleep.

ITYM 'that thing Alphas is a pale shadow of' (Unfair as I haven't actually seen Alphas, but do they have the PTB and the FRTFO Bench?) Should we open a sweepstake/pool on how long it'll take before SU is accused of being an Alphas clone?

I'd second the C+
I'll check back to see what they do next, but it isn't riveting to me yet.

Those are both fine shows. I'm starting to like Warehouse 13 a LOT more than I expected to, also.

I gave up tv yesterday. If only a lightning strike could leave the computer intact but take out the 11-yr-old's ps2... that kid is addicted to screens! But if "Alphas" decides to become a text serial on the web... nah. Without our ptb, I'm "eh"!

Me, too. I find all three leads charming, and the outbreaks of history geekery delight me.

The Regents date back to the Ptolemaic dynasty! The previous Warehouses were located all over the world in a variety of cultures.

Two very cute girlnerds cracking the cases, a grouch to provide covering fire against bad-guys and regents alike and a jock to handle the 'Er, What?' moments, what's not to like?
