and here we are at the (vertex? focus? hello, math deltas?) spot-on-the-story-arc where we've just crested the hill...

Apex? Zenith? Precipice?

I'm going with precipice, because the others imply a peak, and I don't think for a moment the PTB have peaked. Whereas 'precipice' implies plummetting over the edge towards an inevitable stunning impact.

I'm thinking it's a roller coaster. Or maybe The PTB's Wild Ride.

I had this over in the episode thread, but I wanted to say it here where we are giving Leah kudos.

In my head, "SDMoYL" is set across from "Any Other Day", like a question and a response.

Daphne:

There's so much he can control. He knows how to jump from a bridge. If she didn't believe that, she'd have tried to stop him.

But he also knows how not to. What if he doesn't want to wait for entropy?

Ah. So that's what I'm afraid of.

And Chaz:

Quote
thinking about Daphne twining a lock absently around her fingers, and you wish, you wish, you wish--

Except you don't really wish you were dead. That's the worst part. You just wish you wished you were dead.

Which is interesting. Really, really interesting.

Which is what makes it a fabulous contribution to the many-weavers-one-cloth of SU.

What they said.

The episode is so dense that I feel as though I'm not quite giving it enough justice because I can't yet read it a third time and pick through everything else that happened. Even so it was beautiful.

This ep was exquisitely pleasurable and painful.

Ah, Shadow Unit, the home of writing I love and cannot bear to reread.
