Help me, fellow Deltas!

I have received a whole pickled herring, entire, which I have been consuming with much delight.

However - (and this was originally a pristine, intact herring) I am wondering if I can consume its innards.  I await Delta input with breathless anticipation.

How big a herring are we talking here?

Please, please tell me it is red. Roll Eyes

Also, I would not eat the innards. Then again, I've never liked uncooked herring to begin with, despite it being almost a national dish, it's that big of a classic here, esp. as an appetizer with new potatoes.

I first read that as "heroine".

Just so you know.

"Whole pickled heroine" is what you get after Brady takes Lau over to Gray's, after Daphne's out of surgery.

About 12" long I think.  I'd measure it, but most of the beastie's been devoured already.

Pickled herring is not previously cooked?

Just learned something new.
