Duke's an avatar of the Trickster, and trickster gods seem to lose as much as they win. It tends to be funny either way, though. Often after the fact and not necessarily to the people who were there.

Korvar, I definitely remember speculation among the team that the Danville and Quantico gammas were after them (because of the personal connection).
