Cool! And I was not aware of this story. It's now queued in my player, so thanks for that.

I love this story (and the rest of the Boojumverse stories and the Drabblecast podcasts of them - I hope there will be more in the future)!

I ended up making a short fanvid/ trailer for it: https://archiveofourown.org/works/9480191

audio: Drabblecast 254: The Wreck of the Charles Dexter Ward
footage: The Expanse, Farscape, Star Trek (2009), Star Trek Beyond

Fun! Serious cognitive dissonance trying to wrench the actors in roles I know around to being those other characters I've only seen in my head and on the roster. The ones I didn't recognize (Falkner, Villette, Gates) worked fine for me at a glance (as much as non-Beta actors are likely to be able to look the part of a Beta), though, so I'm sure I could come around on the others.

Yay!

I’m glad some of the episode stuff came across – I wasn’t sure how clear that would be.
(‘Endgames’, ‘Smoke & Mirrors’, ‘Basilisk Hunt’, ‘Ballistic’, and ‘On Faith’ were the ones I had in specifically in mind.)

Yeah, seriously!

I didn't start reading SU at the very beginning - not, in fact, until another online friend or two recommended it. But a lot of things are hitting those ten year marks. (I'm finishing up my program now, and it's been almost that long, what with the spine injury in the middle. Meanwhile, I've stayed in touch with a number of friends of the 15 year old girl who jumped off the Aurora bridge and died in my driveway when I was living on the housebarge, and 10th anniversary of her death was just last Friday.*)

* Which, okay, is kind of morbid, but it's been on my mind. And the friends of hers I've stayed in touch with are really awesome.

I love it!

And hey, casting was obvious, and some of the scenes were obvious to episodes!

That's great! I wish we could air it on primetime TV!

Music: 'Half Angel, Half Eagle' by Jane Siberry
Footage: Criminal Minds, Dominion, Elementary, Luther, Painkiller Jane, Person of Interest, Prime Suspect (US), Scorpion, Sleepy Hollow, Supernatural, and Witchblade.

I was somewhat limited by what I had on hand, but I still like how it turned out overall

Since I've had Shadow Unit on the brain recently, here's a short kinda teaser ...the casting's not quite right since I was limited to what I had on DVD or on iTunes. I may make a longer vid later if I can find enough footage that will work for it

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0KZDLNX9Ux9YU00SGN0OWtfeDA/view

The footage is from the following shows: Criminal Minds, Elementary, Luther, Person of Interest, Scorpion, Sleepy Hollow and Supernatural. The music is excerpt from Jane Siberry's 'Half Angel, Half Eagle'
