I like this statement of the issue, as it avoids anthopomorphication.
(,,,And now I'm wondering about anthropomorfiction. Brains are funny things.)
Anthropomor_fic on LJ. I believe there is Tetris porn Tetris porn. Of course. I have spoken into the Abyss, and it spoke back. did it say "come to the dark side, we have cookies"? So apparently it's not on Anthropomor_fic. Which is a shame. However. I found this in my Livejournal. You're very welcome.

"And then he'll go to Idlewild," she said to Reyes still waiting on the other end of the line; Reyes who might cut off her channel to those soft voices if she did not provide him more questions.
Idlewood instead of Idlewild?

I thought if none of the decedents had had reassignment surgery, they would still have been male? They were male sex but female gender? Or am I the wrong way round?

Which Reyes has worried about (and I'd cite the conversation, but I can't find it right now). So, does the thing you worry about never happen? Or does it increase the chance that it'll happen, and you'll spot it in time? Or none of the above?
I think that that is quite possibly the scariest aspect of the job that Reyes has to deal with. Ignore the crazy, physics-defying mass-murderers and the horrors that would keep most people up at night. If the Anomaly is a disease, and exposure will either kill or cure (and I'm really not trying to be punny here), then who do you watch first, and what signs do you look for? And how do you deal with the knowledge that you brought them on board with the WTF, and possibly exposed them to it?

I admit, the only ZZ Top song ive heard is La Grange, and that was the G3 Live In Tokyo cover. They seem okay.
There's an old joke that I heard on a prog forum somewhere that said AC:DC were the world's greatest progressive rock band because they've been playing the same song for twenty-two albums.
Subsequent to that, I had to buy a new keyboard and monitor, and have banned any kind of drink within a five-foot radius of the desk.

It is ten to six in the morning here. I have to sleep because I have to be up for a day shift in about six hours. And my housemate has decided at this is the perfect time to Make All Of The Toast, Ever, because he is a mean and cruel man. I am tortured by the smell of toast.
I was trying to turn that into a pun of how I don't have two types of refreshment, but it degenerated into a Wahhh, First World Problems thing.
Bed.
Night all!!

I bet he wants to stay the person Daphne loved. He's going to keep asking himself "would she be proud of me?"
JSYK, (and this may be TMI, etc, but...) I did not cry at my mother's cremation. Stupid meatpuppet emotional reactions (or lack thereof, issues, whatver), etc, etc. This line? I.. Left my pen in the bathroom. *runs*

After getting some very odd looks from my partner last night when I had to explain about why you cry over the death of fictional characters I have had a horrible thought. There are two situations Esther brings up in Rites of Passage ( http://www.shadowunit.org/rites.html) : "Esther Falkner will remember this later, in bad spots. Watching a truck overturning, slow and inevitable, in the sunny summertime of a New York expressway. Staring down a hallway of booby traps, the floor sticky with blood." What else, in the future, will be comparable with watching this happen to Daphne? See, I read that as being from "Overkill".

Argh. Damn damn damn.
(Somebody point me at the extra? I'm on the netbook and it's a tad awkward.)
I find I have some extra damns lying around so here- damndamndamn.
http://shadowunit.org/fair.htmlThank you for the pointer. Also damndamndamndamndamn. I'm going to go walk the dog now. I don't have a dog, so I'm going to go out and drink till I can't feel feelings anymore. That sounds like a reasonable and appropriate response to a bad situation.
