Felicity Tabor? Really?
Unicorns, apocalyptic imaginings, and a desperate wish to be Special were pretty consistent with *my* experience as a teenaged girl... and apparently there's a pretty big market for it, given the popularity of certain strains of urban fantasy, especially in YA...
Now I'm wondering what Felicity Tabor would think of my current crack-read, the Killer Unicorn series by Diana Peterfreund. |

Tylik, that experience was just about the opposite of mine. At least in fifth grade, I had a friend who brought sushi to school often and was pandered to in hopes of getting bits of it. (For reference, this was in San Antonio, um... six years ago. *Is embarrassingly young*)

I can't quote on my phone, but dwg, most kids in the US start middle school at age eleven (6th grade)- I don't know anyone that thinks of twelve as the age that middle school begins.

I wasn't worried so much that Chaz and Daphne weren't going to survive, but I was worried about Hafidha's survival. Now I'm worried about all 3.
I'm kinda worried about Reyes if his bets don't pay off. He's wound pretty tight already, and there has to be a breaking point there somewhere. Personally, if I were a gamma trying to break the ACTF, I'd go for Falkner. And since we're currently thinking there might be one of those out there, I'm scared for her. |

Every time we watch Star Wars and one of the subtitled bits comes on, I turn to my father and say, "But the ENTIRE MOVIE is in translation!"
Also, the alt-text is my favorite part of this because it is my constant problem with fantasy novels.

Jackson was about Reyes's height, but about a Reyes-and-a-half wide. Stephen Reyes is a standard unit of measurement. Interesting setup. Is the GUnsub targeting single mothers, or simply where there is not a man in the house? Two more parts before we get answers! If then! Maybe it's the absence of the boy's father in particular that's important? |

Korvar, I definitely remember speculation among the team that the Danville and Quantico gammas were after them (because of the personal connection).
