"And then he'll go to Idlewild," she said to Reyes still waiting on the other end of the line; Reyes who might cut off her channel to those soft voices if she did not provide him more questions.
Idlewild* from whence he'll be flown to Idlewood. * an airport, now known as JFK, originally named for the nearby golf course

The DDOS attacks are annoying me greatly. I wanted to bid on things today... /whine.
I second this! And I third. I posted a bid (or attempted to do so, I walked away while the browser claimed it was "connecting") and when I checked back hours later, after tending to things that needed tending, it had posted... but the timestamp on my post was about 7 hours after I had clicked "submit". My bid is now gone; someone else also bid my amount on the item, and their bid registered before LJ accepted mine. I might as well not even have tried. *sob* When I get back from my travel, I'll post something, probably a crocheted afghan, to the auction.

After two days off the medication, I am very upset to recall what I was thinking, and somewhat traumatized to recall that I thought then it was perfectly clear and logical.
By any chance was this pregabalin (aka lyrica)? (Yeah, that was a wretched day. Took the stuff... once. Right before heading into the lab. The day just got worse and worse, and more and more hopeless - though I think I only ended up in the bathroom in tears once - until suddenly it occurred to me that this could be the new medication, and I looked it up and... yeah. OMFG. So I went home immediately, and spent the rest of the day taking hot baths and reading trash fiction because that fixes everything. Or at least keeps me from doing anything stupid in the mean time.) Nope. Not pregabalin. It's ezetimibe, a medication meant to help lower cholesterol. I'm not entirely unhappy that I have a bad reaction to it, because in some studies it is associated with an increase in plaque volume (seems to me that the cholesterol leaves the blood to be deposited as plaque.) Plaque. Do. Not. Want. I had an absolutely horrible set of side effects from the common, cheap, most-people-have-no-side-effects simvastatin (and the beginnings of similar within 2 hours of taking the first dose of a different one). Won't take any more. Why would I volunteer to feel that bad again?

I have been wondering for the past few days how much of the Bug is brain chemistry, or the Bug controlling brain chemistry.
You see, I had an episode of side effects from a drug the doc had me start... In addition to the itching, the rash, the headaches, the joint pain and the miscellaneous stabbing pains in my abdomen, back and chest, I found myself subject to something I imagine is similar to "bug logic":
Clear in my mind was a perfect and logical summary of my position in the universe, and how I was perfectly redundant. When I started to explain this to my husband, he was horrified, and instructed me to stop taking my drug. Now. Immediately. And never take any more. When I consulted my daughter, she agreed.
After two days off the medication, I am very upset to recall what I was thinking, and somewhat traumatized to recall that I thought then it was perfectly clear and logical.

Yes, exactly what kayjayoh said.
*mourns some more*
If Duane's cupcakes are really good, I see why there might be some overlooking of the overlooking of a tyop or tow.
I've never had Cardamom vanilla anything, but I am a fan of both cardamom and vanilla. Could you spare one of those cupcakes for me to try?

This is where I wanna get on a soapbox and urge people to sign their organ donor cards, or have it indicated on their driver's licenses, or wherever is appropriate for where you live. Just sayin'.
(posting here as well as on Schedule thread)
Have potential donors to speak to their family members and talk to the family members until the family is clear that they wish to be donors, and okay with it, because after the donor is deceased, signed donor card or no, the family must be willing to sign off on the donation or it won't happen. Sometimes circumstances dictate no donation. My daughter wanted to be an organ donor. She died of a massive viral/bacterial infection. When you add in the immune suppression that goes with transplant, you don't want anything that might compromise the fragile alliance between new organ and new host. She had to settle for something else. Her surgeon called it "an incredible gift" that we allowed an autopsy, because of the knowledge gained. It may be only one data point, but it's one data point they would have gotten nowhere else. I know she would be pleased.
